i have an atapi drive,that can read/write cd,dvd and dl dvd(8.5gb) is it possible that if i somehow get to update the drivers and would it work? and how to?

but when i had vista home basic,i was able to read the empty disk then write,now i am not able to just read the disk at all!:confused:

i have roxio creator 2010,but it just doesn't read at all.

i'm using windows 7 ultimate upgraded from vista home basic, i am able to read dual layer disks which have content on them,but when i insert a blank dual layer disk,it is not being recognised.i had no issues reading from vista,problem started immediately following installation of windows 7...
