Will Microsoft's Silverlight dampen the appeal of Google's Chrome OS?

I've used PowerDVD - don't mind it, but I don't have a Blu-ray drive in that machine. As for home theatres... my Sony tower speakers are old enough they predate the internet. You can't even find them in Sony's support database.

Will Microsoft's Silverlight dampen the appeal of Google's Chrome OS?

Well I guess it's obvious I'm an ArcSoft fanboy.

    AOL Problem

That sounds really weird. I'd think AOL is your AOL problem. Perhaps they have some strict fine print that not only they only provide you one ip address but they also limit you to 1 PC unless you pay extra. They can definitely see what goes on with the broadband modem and can see devices...

Linux will stop working in 2038

At least this is apparently becoming an issue NOW instead of 25 years from now. Microsoft could take a note about planning ahead eh? Still, it's a moot point because as mentioned who's going to be using a 32 bit system in 2038? There likely won't be any 32 bit systems left by 2025 (best...

Will Microsoft's Silverlight dampen the appeal of Google's Chrome OS?

I'll be surprised if Silverlight really takes off. Granted coming from the big hands of Microsoft it'll have a forced high adoption rate and microsoft programs we already use will probably be rewritten for silverlight at some point if they aren't already. But will anyone else use Silverlight...

Windows 7 My opinion on the Windows 7 vs XP matter.

Some systems must be buggier than others. I've had to do no maintenance to my system in almost two years with XP. I am overdue for a reformat/reinstall since it is a bit less snappy than it should be for my quad core but it's not bad. What kind of stuff are you referring to though? My XP...

Windows 7 Anyone tried Line6 hardware and software in Windows 7?

I'm wondering if anyone out there has tried any of the Line6 audio recording hardware and associated software in windows 7. The Toneport, Pod, Pod Xt Live, Pod X3, Pod Studio? This will be one of my biggest holdups in my Windows 7 adoption. According to the site Line6 supports Windows 7 but...

    Laptop HDD Replacement Choice

I'm sure in a benchmark the 7200 would run hotter but in terms of effective performance the 7200 is going to have to do so much less work to achieve the same results as the 5400 rpm drive. This won't always be the case but I've seen boot time cut in half by a 7200 rpm drive - so maybe it uses a...

    Windows 7 IE8 vs Firefox

I wonder if Chrome has snappier garbage cleanup and if Firefox is trying to keep as much in ram as it can in case you go back so it can be faster... I haven't noticed Chrome being as much of a memory hog as Firefox. Not disagreeing with the numbers you posted, just meaning maybe google clears...

    Windows 7 IE8 vs Firefox

I'm a bit of an M$ and IE hater really but I do have to say IE8 is much improved over IE7. Looks to me like some of the gloss has been sacrificed from it for some extra speed and I like that. It's not bad and it's Acid 2 compatible. (only 5 years late on that one M$? We're working on Acid 3...

Overview Of Google Chrome Operating System

It should be noted there are some key and crazy things to this project that google is trying to accomplish. For one thing basing applications all around the web browser. In order to do so they've worked very hard to optimize javascript execution time and if you look at the google chrome...
