hmm i did an upgrade from 7100 to 7137 and i could notice a definate speed decrease, not sure why that is, but ive done clean installs from then on and its absolutely perfect

do you notice a speed decrease with every upgrade?

its recommended to do a clean install with RTM builds, but you could probably get away with an uprgade, i wouldnt recommend it though !

on windows xp, press the Win button + R and type msconfig and press enter, do you see windows 7 AND windows xp there? if so then you could select windows 7 and click the 'Set As Default' button so it boots straight into windows 7 instead of XP, hope this helped, even though i was vague...

Im getting a problem, which you can see depicted in the following screen shot, all desktop shortcuts are getting covered with something i dont really know what, but you can clearly makeout the items default icon underneath, could anybody help me with this? thanks, Charlie.

ive tried what you suggested and the path to the exe is correct, and also, on reboot, they do revert back correctly, but only for a short ammount of time. thanks for your help

I had this same problem, But after I did a clean install from 7100 to 7127 it no longer happens, i would suggest doing a clean install as there is no known fixfor this problem yet.
