Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Aagh, I may have just found the problem. Looking at the MSI compatibility list on their website more closely, the OCZ3G13334GK is listed, but not the OCZ3G1333LV4GK. The paper instruction manual says nothing specific about voltage, but their website mentions only 1.5v RAM. So, the problem is...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

I did 2 passes on the first stick in about 1:20 and 5 passes on the second in just over 2 hours. No errors. I can afford maybe 30 minutes more of testing, so I've popped the first stick back in and will see if I can get a pass in. I assume this means that it the RAM is not the obvious cause of...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

According to my BIOS and the sticker on the RAM itself, I have OCZ3G1333LV4GK RAM. Well, the BIOS says it's 2GK at the end, but that's because it's 2x2GB. Looking at the website (OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Gold Low Voltage Dual Channel OCZ Technology), the following specs are listed: 1333MHz DDR3 CL...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Well more bad news. I just tried reinstalling Windows, and it froze three separate times. One time was at 97%, too. Then, when I finally did get through the installation it froze when I tried loading the ATI drivers. It's possible that installation of Windows had an error or something I missed...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Yeah, this entire saga has been grating. I'll trying re-installing Windows and doing the Catalyst drivers as soon as I first hit desktop, but as a note that's similar to what I tried with my first re-install of Windows, and that still lead to problems (admittedly while using ninite, so that's...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Yeah, the most recent install (where I put all the other drivers first) I hadn't used ninite yet and the computer still froze while I was on microsoft's website. So it's not (only) that causing problems.

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Tried installing all of the other drivers, didn't solve it. Tried re-installing Windows and loading all of the other drivers first and then the ATI ones, still crashed eventually.

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Welp, reinstalled Windows 7. Had one hiccup along the way but that was me being an idiot. Started up Windows, had to restart after some stuff automatically updated, and then was able to install the ATI drivers. It asked me to restart, something it normally didn't do before when I tried...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Tried deleting the ATI files, re-downloading, and reinstalling. Nothing better. And the method in the thread you linked is what I'm talking about when I say I'm letting Windows automatically install the drivers for the card. That's when it works the best, has good resolutions, generally seems...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Swept all ATI drivers, rebooted, installed the suite, rebooted, got the same error message/weird resolutions/etc. As a note when I used the Driver Sweeper it came up with some files marked nVidia, the chipset and two others. Could this be the cause of the errors? The last dump was from before I...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Alright, just tried uninstalling Avast! in safe mode, restarted into normal Windows, and installed the Catalyst suite. Restarted the computer. Got the same message upon start-up about having no ATI drivers installed or installed drivers not functioning correctly, as well as the weird resolutions...

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

I had already updated to the newest BIOS when I was having problems installing Windows. I'll try removing Avast! and checking for more crash dumps later today when I have some more free time. Thanks for your help in all this!

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

Installed all of the above, but when I tried installing the ATI drivers I got the quick BSOD-to-instant-reboot I mentioned before. What else can I try?

Windows 7 Problem with graphics card on newly built computer

If you want to know how bad it is, it took me from around 1 minute after your post until now to get these two files off of the computer. I was originally trying to post them from there, but gave up after a few reboots and just loaded them onto a USB drive and went back to my older computer. I...
