For what little it's worth, I had this happen and made it past it. cmd --> right-click/run as administrator chkdsk /r Seemed like it just stalled out. Killed it. It didn't ask me to unmount the volume, which in retrospect I find odd. chkdsk /f Ran OK. It did ask me to unmount...
