Windows 10 Stop someone from hacking into my system without a password

my teenager son learned some tricks to log into Windows 10 without any password. He used the trick and installed and played games on my PC while I was at work. I can see the login in event viewer. How can I secure my PC so he can't break in and mess up my system? Thanks,

Windows 7 frequent chkdsk on Windows 7 installed on a SSD drive

Thank you all for the suggestions. I did let it run and it didn't take long, probably ~ 1 to 2 minutes. I checked the event viewer. It looks like it's getting more and more from the first few and more frequently than the past too. I hope it will last at least 2 to 3 years. I really like the...

Windows 7 frequent chkdsk on Windows 7 installed on a SSD drive

I recently purchased a 250GB Kingston SSD drive. I installed Windows 7 on it. It runs OK except that Windows 7 asks for chkdsk when booting very frequently. I'd say every 2 to 3 days I would see this. Usually it would recover a few orphaned files with 001, 002, or etl. Is this a Windows 7 issue...

Windows 7 Show total size like in XP?

Details pane works half-way but better than nothing. It displays the total size if it's 15 items or less. If it's over, you can click "More details" but it won't display anything if it's way over 15. Secondly, it takes ~ 1/2 inch space. While status bar is unused. Is there a setting to bring the...

Windows 7 change the appearance of desktop so it's more like Windows XP

This is a company PC with desktop settings like Windows XP I used to for a few years. I explored the options and changed the desktop background when some of the settings changed that I'd like to revert back. 1. The menu bar becomes gray and with bigger height than it was before. I like the old...

Windows 7 type letters to select a file or folder instead of typing a search term

In XP (and Vista), you type alphebets to select a file or folder. For example, you are trying to access a file named "My file.txt", you type "m", "y" and it goes directly to folder or files start withm and y so it's close to My file.txt. This is convenient way to find a file you need. But, it's...
