Windows 7 HDMI and Windows 7

HDMI is not an audio-exclusive media, and as such it will not be used on audio-cards. Graphics cards do have HDMI output, though, so I do not see why you would need an audio-card with HDMI?

Should be a HDMI sound device in the list of Playback Devices if you have a native HDMI-output. If you use a DVI-to-HDMI converter, you will have to use S/PDIF.

Windows 7 Cannot update Video Drivers past ATI 8.56.1.4

Nope, cannot get around the ATI installer. But did you try it, just running that .msi file through the ATI installer, like it tells you to? What happens?

Ah, it was .msi files. I just have a habit of calling them .exe files. :P

Windows 7 Build 7057: Install issues at 'Expanding Windows files'

After installing the x86, I notice a lot of CDs and DVDs fail to be read. So possibly it could have been a bad drive that caused it. :S

Windows 7 Cannot update Video Drivers past ATI 8.56.1.4

Go to this folder (if you extracted the contents of the ATI file to the default location): C:\ATI\Support\9_3_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF Run the first of the .exe files in that folder, and it will install the drivers. NOTE: You cannot install the drivers...

Windows 7 Build 7057: Install issues at 'Expanding Windows files'

What does 'one pass 0' mean? The x86 version installs fine. The x64 version does not. Any difference between an x86 and an x64 OS in terms of installation / files, which could cause this?

Windows 7 Build 7057: Install issues at 'Expanding Windows files'

After trying to install Windows 7 on the Vista partition, Vista is not able to boot. Though, I booted a Linux LiveCD, and it seems the previous installs of the OS is backed up in Windows.old and Windows.old.000. So, if I boot the repair tool from the Vista drive, get everything back where it...

Windows 7 Build 7057: Install issues at 'Expanding Windows files'

Here is the scenario: My computer has one internal harddrive, it's split up in two partitions. On the first partition, I've installed Windows Vista (32-bit), and on the second drive I have various files stored. So, not wanting to overwrite the Vista install, I chose to install Windows 7...

Windows 7 Latest Build Upgrade won't finish installing

You cannot rollback such an upgrade. Wipe the harddrive, and install again. Oh, and to the poster above; I upgraded just fine from 7000 -> 7057. ;)

Windows 7 Failed windows 7 upgrade, unable to remove temp files

Link Removed - Invalid URL Install the software provided on that site, right-click the folder and choose 'Unlocker'. You should get a message telling you there is no handler at the file, and you'll be able to choose which action to take from a list. Choose 'Delete' from that list, and the...

Windows 7 How to install windows 7 on a second harddrive?

A simple solution is to disconnect the main drive, removing all possibility that it might write to the main drive MBR. Though, I'm not sure why you'd want to do this?

    Windows 7 Sound...

It's built-in on the motherboard, and is installed with the default Windows 7 (or Windows Vista?) driver that the OS installs itself.

Nevermind. Just found it doesn't default to the HDMI device anymore when cable is plugged in.

Windows 7 HDMI and Windows 7

Well, I recently tried to connect my laptop to my friend's 42" LCD-TV, like I used to with Vista. But, now it does not transfer and sound through the HDMI, and the max resolution is capped at 720p instead of 1080p. Anyone know if this is fixable, or am I forced to reinstall Vista?
