my pavilion dv7-1247cl came with this remote and after installing windows 7 i cant use it how can i get it to work

hi all i was trying to install a theme on my pc using alienware's my colors and it didnt work. as a result, the shortcut symbol on the icons got replaced with little green folders. can anyone help me get them back to normal
