The price is RM29,999, which is a lot of ringgit for a thin laptop. Here is what the money buys, what is still marketing copy, and what to check before ordering.
The headline facts
- Price: Both the 14-inch P14 and the 16-inch P16 carry an official retail price of RM29,999 in Malaysia. Tech Critter words it as "start from" RM29,999, so treat that as the entry price and not a guaranteed final figure for every configuration.
- Window: 8 to 31 October 2026, ASUS e-Store only. SoyaCincau expects the models to reach Shopee and Lazada soon. That is an expectation, not an announcement.
- Launch bundle: A ProArt Display OLED PA279CDV monitor worth RM4,250, a ProArt Mouse MD301 and a protective sleeve, while stocks last. The reports also list a two-year international warranty and a two-year Perfect Warranty.
- Background: ASUS Malaysia first said at Computex in June that the P16 and P14 would arrive in Q3 2026, with local configurations and pricing to follow. This pre-order delivers on that.
What RTX Spark is
Pokde.Net, quoting ASUS, describes the chip as a Blackwell-generation RTX GPU paired with a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU. The platform ceilings are up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance. Nvidia's own product page lists these as "up to" figures: a 6,144-core GPU, a 20-core CPU, 1 petaflop of FP4 and 128GB.
Nvidia's page gives platform maximums, not guaranteed real-world results.
Two things limit the AI claims:
- Model fit. Nasi Lemak Tech says what you can run locally depends on model architecture, quantisation, context length and available memory.
- Local isn't automatically free or private. Some outlets say "no token charges" and "no cloud privacy concerns". That only holds for workloads that actually run on the device. Tech Critter notes that cloud remains an option for frontier-scale or burst work. A hybrid setup is the realistic expectation.
KLGadgetGuy adds a useful point for Malaysian buyers. Unlike the broader global range with multiple memory capacities, the Malaysian launch configurations pair the full RTX Spark processor with 128GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD.
P14 versus P16
The two share a platform, so the choice is mostly about screen, size and expansion. The specs below come from the Malaysian reports and ASUS's own spec pages, and all of them are vendor figures.
| ProArt P14 (H7407) | ProArt P16 (H7607) | |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 14-inch 3K (2880×1800) OLED, 120Hz | 16-inch 4K UHD+ (3840×2400) OLED, 120Hz, G-Sync |
| HDR peak brightness (Malaysian reports) | 1,100 nits | 1,600 nits |
| Weight | 1.48kg | 1.77kg |
| Battery | 90Wh | 99Wh |
| SSD slots | One M.2 PCIe 4.0 | Two M.2 PCIe 5.0 |
| Card reader | SD 4.0 | SD Express 7.0 |
Both models share three USB4 ports (40Gbps, display and power delivery), a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, HDMI 2.1 FRL, a 3.5mm combo jack, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Pokde.Net says both charge from a 140W USB-C adapter.
A discrepancy on P14 brightness. Several outlets quote "up to 1,600 nits" for both laptops, based on ASUS's general wording. The Malaysian reports give the P14 as 1,100 nits HDR peak. ASUS's global P14 spec page lists both 1,600-nit and 1,100-nit panel variants. For the Malaysian P14, the 1,100-nit figure is the more specific one.
Other display claims, including Delta E under 1, Pantone validation and 100% DCI-P3, are ASUS specifications. None of the launch coverage reports independent panel tests.
ASUS also says the P16 is 13% thinner and 16% lighter than the previous-generation P16 (H7606). That is a manufacturer comparison, and so is the "all-day battery" language. No runtime tests appear in the launch coverage.
The Windows angle
- Operating system: The P16 ships with Windows 11 Home, according to SoyaCincau. ASUS's global P14 spec page lists both Windows 11 Home and Pro across regions.
- Security: The P14 spec page lists TPM 2.0, the Microsoft Pluton security processor, and an IR camera for Windows Hello. Pokde.Net notes a dedicated Copilot key.
- Windows 10 is not supported. ASUS says the machine was tested only with Windows 11. It warns of compatibility problems on Windows 10 or older versions. It also says the drivers work only with Windows 11 version 24H2 or later and advises against manually installing an older OS. Anyone planning a custom image or a clean reinstall should note this.
- Microsoft software in the bundle: Microsoft Home & Student 2024 and one year of Microsoft 365 Basic with 100GB of cloud storage. ASUS's spec page shows several Microsoft Office combinations across markets. Confirm the Malaysian entitlement at checkout instead of assuming the general list applies.
This is an Arm-style Grace CPU on Windows, though the sources don't spell out the architecture. Before committing RM29,999, check that your specialist tools and drivers are validated for RTX Spark. Nvidia says more than 1,000 accelerated apps are coming, and Adobe says it is re-architecting Photoshop and Premiere. ASUS's June announcement states both. Those are vendor statements about the platform, not a compatibility guarantee for your workflow.
The bundled software
Per Nasi Lemak Tech and Pokde.Net, ASUS preloads:
- MuseTree: local image and video generation using the FLUX and WAN models.
- StoryCube: AI-driven scene recognition and media organisation.
- Hermes (Nous Research): an open-source autonomous agent that works across desktop apps, the terminal and local files, with persistent memory and sandboxing. A dedicated Hermes Skill links it to MuseTree.
- Zenni Claw: ASUS's own assistant for everyday tasks and device control.
- ComfyUI: validated workflows and resource packs.
The coverage includes no independent security, privacy or performance evaluation of any of them. An agent with terminal and file access is powerful, and IT admins should read the sandboxing details before deploying it on managed fleets. Pokde.Net's own commentary also questions selling generative AI to creators who have concerns about it.
Other bundle extras
The reports list three months of Google AI Pro, six months of Dropbox 500GB, a one-year ASUS Secure Auto-Backup 200GB subscription, and three months of Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps. ASUS's own spec page says offer eligibility varies by market, device and time, and that terms apply. Check the order page for what applies to your purchase.
Should you pre-order?
It makes sense if:
- You already know your toolchain runs well on RTX Spark.
- You work with large local models or large 3D scenes and need the 128GB pool.
- You value the bundled OLED monitor. The RM4,250 value is ASUS's figure.
Wait if:
- You want independent benchmarks, thermals and battery tests. They weren't part of this coverage.
- You rely on legacy or niche Windows software.
- You want retail-channel pricing. Marketplace listings may come later, and prices there aren't confirmed.
Mid-month shipping timelines can slip. The reports describe a limited-stock bundle, so verify the stock status and shipping estimates on the ASUS e-Store page before paying.
In short, the pre-order is real, the price and dates are consistent across all four reports, and the hardware list is impressive on paper. The benchmarks that would justify the premium haven't been published yet.
