What launched, and where
Gameloft's September announcement set a worldwide PC and console launch for October 15, 2026. Licensing.biz reported on October 19 that the game is now available. The game is also included with Xbox Game Pass and supports Xbox Play Anywhere. The Xbox store listing gives the same release date of 10/15/2026.
Platforms named by Gameloft and Licensing.biz:
- Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch
- PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4
- Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
- Xbox on PC
- Steam
- Epic Games Store
This is a multi-platform release, not an Xbox exclusive. Xbox gets the platform features, plus Game Pass.
The Xbox and PC details
The Microsoft Store listing shows these capabilities:
- Optimization for Xbox Series X|S, with Smart Delivery.
- Xbox Play Anywhere, Xbox achievements and Xbox cloud saves.
- Play destinations of PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Gaming and handheld.
- 4K Ultra HD and 60 fps+ listed under capabilities.
- Single-player, plus local co-op for exactly two players.
TrueAchievements, reporting at the game's reveal, described Play Anywhere as letting you own all Xbox versions of the game for one digital purchase on the Microsoft Store. In practice, one Xbox purchase should cover the console and the Windows PC version. That does not extend to the Steam, Epic, PlayStation or Nintendo versions, which are separate stores.
Game Pass: read the fine print
Reports that it's "included with Game Pass" need a caveat. The Xbox listing says the game is a cloud-playable title included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate only if you read the store text closely. Here is what the listing actually says:
- It is included with Game Pass Ultimate.
- Streaming it with Game Pass Essential or Premium requires buying the game.
- The "included in these subscriptions" labels show "PC only" and "Ultimate".
Xbox Hub's launch coverage matches that reading. It says Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers get day-one access. If you're on Premium or Essential, don't assume the game is free to play.
Gameplay in brief
Bluey and Bingo find Dad's old camera and explore locations around Brisbane. Players photograph games, chase bin chickens and look for hidden surprises. Each photo goes into a scrapbook and unlocks stickers. Outfits for Bluey and Bingo unlock along the way.
In two-player mode, one player leads behind the camera. The second player explores and strikes poses. Gameloft says it is a premium game with no in-game purchases and no online play. One quirk: the Xbox listing still carries a generic "offers in-app purchases" notice. That is probably a store label for the Deluxe add-on, but the listing doesn't say so. The "no in-game purchases" claim comes from Gameloft's own description.
The "Play for Real Life" feature suggests offline activities. The Xbox listing gives cushion forts and cardboard boxes as examples. Gameloft cites university research that calls the game developmentally enriching. That is the publisher's claim, so treat it accordingly.
Editions and pricing
Prices announced by Gameloft, for the US:
| Edition | Digital price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | US$39.99 | Base game |
| Deluxe | US$54.99 (preorder price was US$39.99) | "Here Come the Grannies" bonus content, extra outfits, digital art album |
The preorder offer ended at 11:59 p.m. on October 14, so it has expired. Xbox Hub reported UK prices of £34.99 for Standard and £47.98 for Deluxe. Physical editions were announced at US$39.99 for Standard and Deluxe, and US$49.99 for an Activity Book Edition. Those are Gameloft's announced prices, not checked retail prices.
Regional caveats
Licensing.biz calls the launch global. Gameloft's own notice carves out Japan: digital release on October 15 and physical on November 26. Licensing.biz also lists South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan with Sega-distributed physical editions on November 26. Gameloft's notice I reviewed confirms only the Japan dates, so check your local store.
The Bindi Irwin tie-in
Licensing.biz says Gameloft partnered with conservationist Bindi Irwin on wildlife-themed launch content. It says she appears in the overview trailer and shared her thoughts on Instagram, with more content to follow. I couldn't corroborate this in Gameloft's own pages, so treat it as Licensing.biz's reporting.
Bottom line
- Check your Game Pass tier before assuming the game is free.
- Buying on Xbox covers the console and the Windows PC version through Play Anywhere. Steam and Epic are separate purchases.
- The game has local co-op only, with no online play.
- If you're in Japan or nearby regions, physical copies arrive November 26.
