A cozy candlelit gaming nook features a controller, sleeping cat, and a fantasy game of a snail knight facing a moonlit castle.
Cozy After Dark's first showcase aired on October 12, 2026, with a lineup that was mostly Steam-bound. TrueAchievements counted ten games with Xbox plans among the 52 titles shown. Some have firm dates and some are only hopeful. Here is which is which.

GamesBeat reports that the showcase streamed on YouTube and Twitch with more than 50 trailers and developer spotlights. It was presented by Dames 4 Games, Draknek & Friends and the creative agency Continue. The organisers describe the "dark & cozy" niche as blending comfort with quiet mystery, suspense and the occasional scare. Think cosy surfaces with something creepy underneath.

All dates and windows in the table come from TrueAchievements. GamesBeat's showcase list confirms that these games appeared, but it does not corroborate their platform plans.

Grave Seasons: the headline title

Grave Seasons is the one with the most independent support. Gematsu reports that Blumhouse Games and developer Perfect Garbage will launch it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC via Steam on March 9, 2027. It will also be available via Game Pass.

The date is a delay. FullCleared reports that porting a first major game to consoles proved harder than the studio expected, so the game moved out of fall 2026. It was first dated for August 14 during the Xbox Partner Preview in March.

At the showcase, TrueAchievements says viewers saw gameplay in the fall season and learned new details about the supernatural killer. New Game+ reportedly brings new victims and a new killer, and keeps your progress from the previous year. I found no second source for the New Game+ details, so treat them as TrueAchievements' account. Pure Xbox notes that the release-date trailer did not mention Game Pass. The Game Pass listing therefore rests on earlier announcements. The studio's own X account has said it will be on Game Pass at launch.

Soonest releases: October and December 2026

  • Curse of Resthaven is a mystery-adventure set on an island, with a protagonist stuck in a time loop while searching for his lost niece. You gather clues, interrogate locals, barter with merchants and invest in businesses. In the wilderness you fight using resources kept as cards. TrueAchievements gives it an Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One date of October 29, 2026. That is under three weeks away.
  • The Road of Dust and Sorrow is a sidescroller. You play Katherine, protecting her daughter Ava in a post-apocalypse overrun by "dusters", which are zombies. It mixes gory action with calmer, atmospheric sections. TrueAchievements gives Xbox Series X|S on December 3, 2026 and compares it to a 2D take on The Last of Us.

2027 and undated

  • Deadroot is a 3D metroidvania starring Kitt, a sword-wielding snail. TrueAchievements says it is due in 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox PC. It also lists Xbox Play Anywhere support, which would let one purchase cover console and PC. That is the most Windows-relevant detail in the roundup. GamesBeat credits Finish Line Games as the developer.
  • Apothecurse is a hand-drawn adventure in which Leon the Alchemist explores a Lovecraftian town. It is targeting Q3 2027 on Xbox Series X|S.
  • Vale's Echo is a choices-matter adventure set in the Underworld, with a recently deceased amnesiac protagonist. It is expected on Xbox Series X|S in Q2 2027.
  • Catechesis is an action RPG about an altar boy possessed by a demon. By day he attends school and plays minigames. By night he fights demons in top-down shooter combat. TrueAchievements lists Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in Q3 2027.
  • Spanky "Bat-A-Swing" is a 3D platformer inspired by 1930s cartoons, where movement and attacks follow electro swing rhythms. An Xbox Series X|S release is expected, but there is no date.

Two to treat with care

Gretel & Hansel is a remake of two Newgrounds Flash games from 2010 and 2011, with a third chapter added. TrueAchievements says it was meant to reach PC first, with console ports in 2026. It still hasn't launched on PC. The outlet only calls an Xbox Series X|S version a good chance, so do not read it as an announced Xbox release.

Gloomy Eyes is not a new release. TrueAchievements says its Xbox Series X|S version, with achievements, has been out since September 2025. The showcase simply carried a fresh trailer. It is a Tim Burton-inspired cosy-horror puzzle game in which one player controls both Gloomy and Nena.

What it means for Xbox and PC players

  • Most of the showcase is Steam-first, so the Xbox slice is small. Only a handful of titles have concrete Xbox dates.
  • Windows players should watch Play Anywhere. Of this list, only Deadroot is reported to have it.
  • Grave Seasons is the only title tied to Game Pass, and its date has already slipped once.
  • Windows gamers whose games live on Steam can still use the Steam event, which GamesBeat says runs October 12 to 19 with demos and discounts.

I haven't verified most of these dates against studio or platform listings, which suggests checking the Xbox store page before wishlisting. Indie console dates also have a habit of moving, as Grave Seasons shows.
