Xbox Wire announced the celebration in an interview with Game Director Shadow Guo. Much of that interview is design commentary. The dates and reward conditions below are checked against publisher Garena's official update notices and DreamHack's event announcement.
Delta Force Season Reorientation Launched September 8, Not September 26
It's easy to read the anniversary announcement as a season launch. It isn't. Garena's update notice says Season 11, Reorientation, went out as a no-downtime update on PC and mobile on September 8, 2026. The Season Pass runs from September 8 to November 9. Xbox Wire says the season is live now in Delta Force, free to play on XBOX Series X|S. September 26 is when the anniversary giveaway starts. It is not the season's start date.
The timeline explains the "two years" label. According to Xbox Wire, Delta Force began on PC, expanded to mobile a few months later, and arrived on XBOX Series X|S a little over a year ago. Microsoft's earlier Xbox Wire announcement gave the console launch date as August 19, 2025. The second anniversary counts from the game's PC debut, so on Xbox the game is just past its first birthday.
For anyone new to the game, Delta Force has two main multiplayer modes. Operations is the PvEvP extraction mode: squads loot a map and must get out, and losing a fight means losing the gear they carried in. Warfare is large-scale combat with up to 32 players per side and vehicles. A PvE campaign based on Black Hawk Down was also offered as a free download at the Xbox launch.
Guo's Quality-of-Life Pitch Targets the Minutes Before Each Deploy
Guo describes Reorientation as a season about removing friction. He says the team traced a normal Operations run from start to finish and asked where players wait, where new players get lost and what veterans repeat every time. His conclusion was that each of these looks like a small problem, "but together they take too much time away from playing."
The Xbox interview lists these changes:
- Operations can now form matches across regions, which is meant to speed up matchmaking while still accounting for latency. Guo says the team is considering the same approach for Warfare and other modes.
- A one-click loadout builds a recommended kit for the next map, using items from the player's stash first and buying whatever is missing.
- A new Combat Support Fund covers part of the cost, within a set limit, when a player doesn't have enough Tekniq Alloy (an in-game currency).
- A redesigned tutorial and an in-game reference called the G.T.I. Field Manual aim to help new players and make it easier to bring a friend into a squad.
These systems come from the Xbox interview. Garena's September 8 notice lists the season's maps, operators, weapons and events, but it doesn't go into the matchmaking or loadout changes. Cross-region matchmaking deserves a close look from players. Faster queues are useful, but Guo's own wording ("The team will watch how it performs") shows the latency balance is still being tuned.
Layali Grove 2.0, Polaris Patrol and Rover Widen the Pace of Operations
Garena's notice confirms that Layali Grove 2.0 runs from September 8 to October 8 with new areas and a new benchmark. It describes three veterans who arrive "with their fishing rods, harmonicas, and stories." According to the Xbox interview, the map now extends farther along the river and adds fishing with its own progression. Map-specific catches can be displayed in the Collection Room aquarium. The river also has a two-player jet ski and a new bounty mission, Breaking Wave, that puts squads on an assault boat. Garena's September 22 fix list confirms that mission exists: it patched a bug that let players into Layali Grove's underground shipyard before accepting the bounty, which Garena calls "Breaking Waves."
Guo expected some pushback on fishing in an extraction shooter. He compares it to lemon in a cheesecake: the tension of Operations stays the main part, and fishing is a short break from it.
Polaris Patrol, a mode where one side plays as the boss, is back. That side controls Security Director Desmoulins, who is linked to an armed vehicle called Requin and supported by the Polaris Squad. Guo says the last boss run, with the character Saeed, showed that balance needed work, and the encounter has been reworked to give every side a fairer chance. Per Xbox Wire, the rewards include the DESMY–REQUIN MODEL, which it calls the game's first craftable collectible, and Serenity, a Legendary M700 appearance.
Garena's notice confirms the new Operator, Rover, available from September 8 to October 8. Rover unlocks on the Season Pass's free track, so you don't have to buy the paid tier to get him. Garena also calls his tactic "Man's Best Friend." Guo explains the pairing: Rover's Dart Rifle can incapacitate an enemy or help an injured teammate recover, and his dog Clover searches the area and tracks nearby threats.
Garena's notice also lists a Space City change. Black Chamber and Buoyancy Lab now have randomized switch extraction locations, and a new one-way elevator route at Central Garden gives players another way out.
The Mog Brings Black Hawk Down-Style Convoy Fights to Warfare
Garena confirms The Mog as the season's new Warfare map, set in a modern Mogadishu. Its notice mentions "push-cart tug-of-war battles" and UH-60 Black Hawk air support. The Xbox interview adds more detail. G.T.I. escorts a convoy through a series of checkpoints while Haavk tries to stop it. Enough damage stalls the vehicle, so attackers have to repair it under fire, which gives defenders a chance to counterattack. Players can also deploy straight onto a Black Hawk, use weapons from different seats, or take a repair role to keep it flying.
Two Garena events are built around the map. Battle of the Mog ran from September 8 to 17. A separate map event, open until October 8, rewards Armament Vouchers and the GTQ-35 Tank – Gear Shift appearance. Two new weapons, the MDR Assault Rifle and the Thompson SMG, arrived in both modes on September 8.
How the 3,900 Delta Tickets Giveaway Actually Works
The headline reward is up to 3,900 Limited-Time Delta Tickets. Garena's September 22 notice gives the rules. The event runs from September 26 to October 25. Players get tickets by completing login and match missions. On day one, logging in on September 26 and completing one match unlocks a Day 1 Gift Box with 1,000 tickets guaranteed. The other 2,900 depend on continuing to play through the event window, so 3,900 is the maximum, not something you get just for logging in.
The anniversary isn't one event with one end date. Garena's notice lists several activities, each on its own schedule:

Absolute Cinema is the prize most likely to be misread. Xbox Wire describes it as a limited Red collectible inspired by one of Delta Force community's favorite memes, dropped through secret Haavk airdrops. Garena's notice says defeating the Haavk squads increases your chance of earning it. It is not a guaranteed drop, and the window is only one week.
Xbox Wire also names Golden State, a Legendary AUG appearance, plus a second-anniversary Charm and Badge. Garena's notices don't use the Golden State name. The closest match there is a season-long 2nd Anniversary Celebration milestone track, running September 8 to November 9, whose rewards include an appearance called AUG – Golden New Year. The names differ, so it's unclear whether they are the same item. Garena's notices also mark some events, including a Daniel Wu collaboration, as Malaysia-only, which is a reminder that event lists can vary by region and publisher.
RISE Series Season 2 Feeds the Delta Force Invitational at DreamHack Stockholm
The esports announcement has the firmest independent confirmation. DreamHack confirms that the Delta Force Invitational 2026 will run from November 27 to 29 as part of DreamHack Stockholm, where the world's top twelve teams will converge in Sweden for three days of incredible competition. The festival takes place in three halls, one roof at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, just south of central Stockholm.
The Liquipedia esports wiki calls the event the World Championship event for 2026 season of Operations game mode. It says it will be the first major Delta Force tournament held outside Asia, and notes that last year's champion, Qing Jiu Club is the defending World Champion, but failed to qualify.
According to Xbox Wire, RISE Series Season 1 ran for five weeks across EMEA and the Americas and ended with regional titles for Dark Entities and Evil Geniuses. It says Season 2 is already underway, and the top two teams from each region will advance to the Delta Force Invitational. The official Delta Force esports site lists Season 2 regional play from September 19 to October 18, with a $200,000 prize pool for each regional league. The top-two-per-region qualification rule comes only from the Xbox interview. DreamHack's twelve-team field means other teams will qualify through routes outside the RISE Series.
What this means for you
If you already play Delta Force on Xbox Series X|S or PC, log in on September 26 and finish one match. That single session gets you the guaranteed 1,000 tickets, and everything else in the anniversary can wait. If you're coming back after a break, the season's onboarding changes (a new tutorial, one-click loadouts, the Field Manual) are aimed at exactly your situation, and the game is still free to play. Players chasing cosmetics should plan around Haavk Insurance, which is the shortest window at one week.
- Season Reorientation has been live since September 8, 2026, so the maps, Rover and the new weapons are available now.
- The Day 1 Gift Box requires a login on September 26 and one completed match. Logging in alone won't unlock it.
- The full 3,900 Limited-Time Delta Tickets require missions spread across September 26 to October 25.
- Absolute Cinema comes from a chance-based drop during Haavk Insurance, September 26 to October 3. Defeating Haavk squads improves the odds but doesn't guarantee it.
- Most token-based anniversary modes and exchanges close October 15, ten days before the ticket event ends.
- Esports fans can follow RISE Series Season 2 through October 18, ahead of the twelve-team Invitational at Stockholmsmässan on November 27–29.
Reorientation looks like a season built to keep players around. It cuts setup time before each match, adds slower activities to Operations and gives Warfare a set-piece map, then uses a month of anniversary rewards to bring lapsed players back. The next fixed dates are October 15, when most anniversary modes close, and October 25, when the ticket giveaway ends. For competitive players, the season finishes in late November in Stockholm, with the first major Delta Force event held outside Asia.
