Dia has picked up its first post-launch update on Windows. Version 1.1.0 landed two days after the Windows debut, and a bigger Mac release, 1.52.0, shipped alongside it. The Browser Company's team (now part of Atlassian) is already moving fast on its AI-first, Chromium-based browser. Dia's official changelog dates the Windows v1.0 release to October 6. Dia's changelog dates both new builds to October 8, 2026.

Two changes appear in both release notes.

Arc-style pinned tabs. Windows 1.1.0 lets members pin tabs outside Favorites or groups, preserving familiar Arc organization and imports. The Mac notes say the same thing and describe it as a familiar Arc-style layout, including when you import your setup from Arc. Until now, Dia's tab model leaned on Favorites and Tab Groups. This adds a simple middle tier for tabs you want parked but not formally organized.

The notes confirm only that pins carry over on import. They don't give a migration checklist or say that every Arc tab property comes across, so don't assume a perfect Arc-to-Dia move.

Chat output that appears sooner. Windows 1.1.0 streams the first answer text and thinking delta immediately, so members see responses sooner. The Mac changelog describes the same change. Note what this is: a change in when output starts to appear. Dia doesn't claim that answers finish faster and publishes no latency figures. PiunikaWeb's author says they noticed quicker responses in testing. That is one person's impression, not a benchmark.

Windows-only polish in 1.1.0

The Windows list is short and aimed at rough edges from the first release:

  • Tabs switch and close faster because unnecessary title-bar and relayout work is avoided.
  • Dialogs focus fields automatically, command-bar selection is clearer, and tabs and sidebar controls align more consistently.

The release summary also mentions smoother profile switching and better reliability across key integrations. The detailed bullets don't spell out those items.

A note on swipeable profiles

PiunikaWeb says swipeable profiles are now on Windows. It cites a Dia social post dated October 7. The 1.1.0 bullet list doesn't mention the feature. On Mac, swipe-to-switch profiles arrived earlier, in the 1.43 line, with an option to share data between profiles. Treat Windows availability as reported by Dia on social media, not as a documented 1.1.0 item.

Mac 1.52.0 extras

Mac users get several items that aren't in the Windows notes:

  • An active-tab indicator that keeps the favicon visible when the selected tab scrolls out of view.
  • A sidebar button that closes unpinned tabs in one click. There is also a "Close All Tabs" context-menu option for Tabs on Top.
  • Automatic connection to Atlassian when you sign in with an Atlassian account. The notes don't say which Atlassian products or permissions this covers.
  • Sample queries and tool tours on pages with connected tools.
  • A "Send now" option that interrupts immediately, plus clearer queue and stop controls for chat.
  • Unpinning an extension now syncs across your devices. The note covers unpinning only, not other extension settings.

The chat queue and steering feature itself isn't new. Dia's Mac 1.51.0 notes already listed queued and steerable chat, pinned tabs in Tab Search, and a few performance fixes. The 1.52.0 change is the clearer controls and the immediate "Send now" behavior.

What to be careful with

  • The model claim. PiunikaWeb says Dia's chatbot used to identify itself as Opus 4.8 and no longer discloses its model. Neither official changelog mentions this. Treat it as one writer's observation. It is also a reasonable question to put to the vendor if you care which model processes your browsing context.
  • The "Windows is a priority" reading. PiunikaWeb takes the shared features as a sign that Atlassian will keep both platforms in step. That is an interpretation. The notes show two shared features and otherwise different lists. The Windows build still lacks the Mac-only items above, and one week of releases is thin evidence of a trend.
  • Missing details. The notes give no benchmarks, system requirements or rollout schedule.

Why Windows users should care

Dia on Windows is brand new, so early update cadence matters. Fixes for tab responsiveness and dialog focus address the basics of daily browser use. Arc refugees get a layout concession they have asked for. Those weighing a switch should still check the details above. Several items remain unconfirmed on Windows: the Atlassian sign-in connection, the close-unpinned-tabs button, and a documented swipeable-profiles entry.

Dia has previously said it ships weekly, so more Windows builds should follow. Expect the feature gap with Mac to be the main thing to watch.
