What is being offered
Social enterprise Tech With No Limits CIC (TWNL) will launch its latest programme on Tuesday, November 3, with training in artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365. The organiser's Eventbrite listings give the details:
| Course | Time | Dates | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 Skills (Level 2) | 10am–12noon | Tuesdays, 3 November–1 December 2026 | Hadley Community Centre, 30 High Street, Hadley TF1 5NL |
| AI for Daily Life | 1pm–3pm | Tuesdays, 3 November–1 December 2026 | Hadley Community Centre, 30 High Street, Hadley TF1 5NL |
The listings say both are in person, for ages 18 and over, and free. They also mention free parking and say the venue is accessible for people with disabilities. The courses are funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
The Microsoft 365 course
The morning class is billed as a Level 2 course. It suits people who want to get organised at home or pick up key knowledge for office work. According to the organiser's listing, it covers:
- Word: creating and formatting documents, adding images and videos, using Editor and Spell Checker, and printing.
- Excel: creating workbooks, entering data, using formulas and filters, and adjusting layout and appearance.
- Outlook: setting up an email account, sending and reading mail with attachments and links, organising mail, managing junk email and creating a signature.
- PowerPoint: building slides and presentations with images and objects.
- Extras: video calls, new AI technology, uploading and downloading files, and free online cloud storage.
This is not an absolute-beginner class. The listing expects learners to know how to use a mouse and keyboard, get online and use email. It points anyone lacking those basics to TWNL's Level 1 beginners' course first. Anyone coming in cold should know that before booking.
The AI for Daily Life course
The afternoon class is described as a follow-on from the Level 2 Microsoft 365 course. The listing says learners will use AI tools to chat, create and explore. It says AI can help with hobbies, family connections, creative projects, wellness and staying safe online.
The Shropshire Star report adds that the course covers writing, creative projects and communication. It also covers online safety, including spotting AI-powered scams, fake messages and fraudulent websites. The newspaper quotes TWNL director Andy Craddock saying AI isn't only for tech experts and that the aim is to leave no one behind.
The listing sets a higher bar than the Microsoft 365 course. It expects good basic computer skills and some experience with email and Microsoft or similar applications. It suggests attending both Level 1 and Level 2 first if you need to build up to it.
Who gets a place
Everyone is welcome, with priority for residents aged 50 and over, unemployed people and those registered as disabled. The Eventbrite pages list the courses as 18+ and say vulnerable adults are welcome. So the priority groups get first call on places, but the courses aren't restricted to them.
Places are limited, and early booking is encouraged. The report gives twnl.co.uk/courses and 07842 906098 for registration. I couldn't confirm how many places remain, so check with TWNL directly.
One open question: the Microsoft 365 listing has a FAQ asking whether learners must bring their own laptop. The captured page shows no answer. Ask the organiser before assuming either way.
Context and caveats
- Local track record. TWNL describes itself as a Microsoft Education Provider. The Shropshire Star says it has helped hundreds of residents in Telford and Wellington with computers, email and online services. I found no independent check of that figure, so treat it as the organisation's claim. The same goes for the participant testimonial the paper quotes.
- Not a qualification. Nothing in the listings suggests a formal certificate. These are practical skills classes, not Microsoft certification prep.
- Other local help. Telford & Wrekin Council's digital support page lists TWNL's courses alongside separate options. One is the council's Tech Made Friendly programme, which has its own schedule, including a Hadley Community Centre run in April 2026. The council also lists library computers and drop-in sessions.
- Funding. The council page describes TWNL's courses as fully funded through the National Lottery Community Fund, which matches the listings. That page was last updated in 2024 and doesn't confirm the November Hadley dates. The Eventbrite listings do.
Why it matters to Microsoft 365 users
Plenty of people still use Word, Excel and Outlook without the confidence to do more than the basics. Many are now also being nudged toward AI assistants, and that raises scam and safety risks. Pairing Microsoft 365 skills with AI-scam awareness is a sensible combination. Both are practical skills for people who aren't IT professionals.
Telford residents who meet the prerequisites have a free five-week option starting on November 3. Everyone else can use it as a model for what community digital-skills training looks like. If you have a relative who struggles with email or spreadsheets, this kind of course may help more than a quick fix over the phone.
