A gaming setup displays a masked figure on a moonlit Halloween street, with pumpkins glowing outside.
IllFonic released Halloween: The Game version 1.1.0 on October 6, 2026, bringing its first quality-of-life update. For PC and Xbox players, the headline changes concern shader compilation, graphics performance and crashes—not just Michael Myers’ ability to ruin an otherwise pleasant evening.

MP1st identifies the console package as 1.016 | 01.016.000. IllFonic’s official notes use 1.1.0 and provide no download size, so the report’s description of a hefty download should not be treated as a storage requirement.

PC and Xbox fixes take priority

According to IllFonic, the update introduces:

  • PC shader precompilation at startup and support labeled DLSS-G.
  • Performance improvements involving DLSS, FSR and XeSS, plus CPU and GPU optimizations across maps.
  • Fixes for crashes affecting unspecified AMD hardware, Story Mode and execution cinematics.
  • Better Xbox Series S stability and fixes for Xbox Series X|S Quick Resume crashes.
  • Volumetric fog on Series S.

The important boundary: these are developer-reported improvements, not benchmark results. The notes supply neither measured gains nor DLSS-G compatibility requirements. They also introduce a warning for graphics hardware below minimum specifications—not a promise that unsupported hardware now works.

Slower matches, clearer feedback

The balance changes target objective rushing: escape supplies and capacities are reduced, while Michael’s Bloodthirst progression is retuned. Melee adjustments aim to limit repeated stun states; hidden targets become Stalked during the final 60 seconds.

Useful interface changes include clearer map positioning, optional Spectator Minigames with passive Perk Roll progress, and a restart notice when settings require one. These are practical improvements beyond combat tuning.

October 27 is a separate content release

IllFonic’s October 5 announcement schedules another update for October 27, 2026. Crucially, Tower Farm will be free for game owners; paid Michael skins, a two-character Civilian pack and costumes are separate offerings. Free features, fixes and quality-of-life changes are also planned. This is not simply one paid DLC package, and the announcement does not establish a larger download than 1.1.0.

The takeaway for Windows and Xbox readers is straightforward: 1.1.0 addresses existing technical problems; October 27 adds content. Keep those releases—and their expectations—separate.
