So does it justify that price? Mostly, if you buy it for the right jobs and check the exact model you're getting. That second part matters more than usual with this laptop, as the naming section below explains.
What's Inside the Core Ultra 5 Model
MensXP's review unit was aimed at students, office workers and home users:
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 322, with six cores: two Performance cores and four Low Power Efficiency cores
- NPU: rated up to 46 TOPS, which makes it a Copilot+ PC
- Memory: 16GB DDR5-5600, made up of 8GB soldered to the board plus one removable 8GB SODIMM, running in dual-channel mode
- Storage: 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD in an M.2 2242 slot
- Display: 15.3-inch WUXGA (1920×1200) IPS, 60Hz, anti-glare, 400 nits claimed, 45% NTSC
- Battery and charging: 60Wh battery, 65W round-tip charger, and USB-C Power Delivery charging that MensXP puts at 45–65W
- Software: Windows 11 Home Single Language, Office Home 2024 and Microsoft 365 Basic, which MensXP says includes 100GB of OneDrive storage for the first year
The chip belongs to Intel's newest generation, codenamed Panther Lake. Digit notes that Intel unveiled Panther Lake at CES 2026 making it the third family of processors to have the 'Core Ultra' branding. Digit also reports that the CPU has 12 MB of L3 cache and a typical power rating of 25 W. That modest power budget explains a lot about how this laptop behaves.
In short: it's a current-generation Intel mainstream laptop with enough RAM, fast storage and an NPU that meets the Copilot+ requirement. It isn't built for heavy workloads.
The Naming Problem: Check the Model Number, Not Just "Slim 3i"
This is the most useful thing to know before buying, and it goes beyond the MensXP review. Lenovo sells a lot of different laptops as the "IdeaPad Slim 3i Gen 11," and they aren't interchangeable.
In the US, reviewers have tested a model built around the Intel Core 7 350, which is not a Core Ultra chip. MakeUseOf found that this version isn't a certified Copilot+ PC, because Lenovo's own reviewer materials list the onboard NPU at 17 TOPS, well under the 40+ TOPS Microsoft requires for that badge. The Gadgeteer, reviewing a similar Core 7 350 model, warned that cheaper machines wearing the Slim 3i name swap in 60Hz screens and 8GB of memory, and a separate Core Ultra family sells under the same badge. The Gadgeteer's short version is worth remembering: Model number, not marketing name.
India has several models too. Digit reviewed the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i Gen 11 with the 15IPH11 2 product tag and the model number 83UR009QIN, and tested with Lenovo BIOS TTCN19WW dated 9 March 2026. Lenovo's India listing for a similar Core Ultra 5 322 configuration uses a different suffix, 83UR009KIN. The Windows side has the same issue: Which? tested a separate 16-inch Core Ultra 5 322 version as a Copilot+ laptop.
What to check before you pay:
- Look for "Core Ultra 5" in the processor name. "Core 7 350" is a different platform with a much smaller NPU.
- Check the NPU rating. The Copilot+ requirement is 40+ TOPS.
- Check the full model number (83UR… and its suffix) against the spec sheet.
- Confirm whether Office Home 2024 is included. Business Standard describes the bundle as configuration-dependent.
Design and Build: Big Screen, Some Hinge Wobble
MensXP gives the India configuration as 343.4 × 239.5mm, 16.9–17.9mm thick and 1.63kg. It notes the weight in a backpack but calls it manageable for commuting. It describes an aluminium lid and keyboard deck with a PC-ABS plastic base, in Luna Grey.
The reviewers don't fully agree on materials. Digit says the user-facing parts are ABS plastic over an internal metal frame, and it measured about 1.49kg. 91mobiles reports that at around 1.5kg, portability isn't an issue, but the materials feel more functional than luxurious. The difference in weight probably comes down to the specific model tested, so check the figure for the one you're looking at.
MensXP's main build complaint is the hinge: the display wobbled when the laptop was moved or adjusted. Lenovo says the machine passes 21 MIL-STD-810H test items. As MensXP points out, that doesn't tell you how the hinge feels day to day.
Display: Good for Office Work, Weak on Colour
The 16:10 aspect ratio is the display's biggest strength. Compared with a 16:9 screen, the extra vertical space shows more spreadsheet rows, more of a document and more room for Snap Layouts. MensXP found the 1920×1200 resolution sharp enough at 15.3 inches and says the 400-nit brightness is higher than many entry-level panels.
The weak point is colour. 45% NTSC coverage is low by current standards. MensXP advises against colour-critical photo editing, video grading or design work, and Business Standard also calls the panel unsuitable for colour-sensitive creative work. The 60Hz refresh rate is basic but fine for office work and video.
Keyboard, Trackpad, Webcam and Ports
MensXP rates the keyboard among the laptop's best features. It has a backlight, a number pad and enough key travel (Digit measures 1.3mm) for fast typing. The trackpad is large and supports Precision TouchPad gestures. It sits left of centre so it lines up with the spacebar, which is common on laptops with a number pad.
For sign-in, you get a 1080p IR webcam with Windows Hello and a physical privacy shutter. There's no fingerprint reader. MensXP found face sign-in quick.
The ports are:
| Port | Details |
|---|---|
| USB-A | 2 |
| USB-C | 1, with charging and DisplayPort (MensXP says DP 1.2; Digit lists 5Gbps) |
| HDMI | 1.4 |
| SD card reader | Yes |
| 3.5mm combo jack | Yes |
| Ethernet / WWAN | No |
The single USB-C port is the main limitation. If you need wired networking, you'll need a USB-C adapter or dock. HDMI 1.4 also limits what external monitors you can run at high refresh rates or resolutions. Wireless is Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
Performance: Handles Everyday Work, Not a Chart-Topper
MensXP recorded 11,184 in Geekbench 7, 1,555 in 3DMark Time Spy, 1,654 Cinebench multi-core, 393 single-core and 6,807 in PCMark 10. In daily use it found the laptop smooth with lots of browser tabs, documents, video calls and messaging apps open. Digit ran different benchmark versions (Geekbench 6, Cinebench R23 and PCMark 10 Extended), so its numbers can't be compared directly with MensXP's. Digit's overall view is that the chip shows strong single-threaded performance and competent multi-threaded output for a mainstream thin-and-light notebook.
91mobiles was less impressed with the value. It found that the Core Ultra 5 322 trailed behind several Ryzen AI-powered rivals and even some older Intel Core i5 systems in CPU benchmarks. That's a fair concern at over ₹1 lakh: the laptop feels fast, but other machines at similar prices post higher benchmark scores.
On graphics, all the reviews agree. The integrated Intel GPU handles casual games. MensXP suggests cloud gaming for AAA titles. Business Standard says lighter games run well, while more demanding titles require compromises. For serious 3D work or GPU-accelerated video editing, you'll need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card.
Upgrades: Useful, but Check Your Unit
This laptop is more upgradeable than most in its class:
- RAM: MensXP says you can swap the 8GB module for a 16GB stick to reach 24GB. Digit reports a maximum supported capacity of 40GB, which suggests a 32GB module would also work. Treat 24GB as one option, not the limit, and check Lenovo's specifications for your model before buying memory.
- Storage: MensXP reports two M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 slots, and Digit found an empty M.2 slot when it opened its unit. So you can add a second drive instead of replacing the original. Buy the short 2242 size; the more common 2280 drives won't fit.
Software and Copilot+
For Windows users, the included Office Home 2024 licence is the most practical extra. It's a one-off purchase, not a subscription, which suits students who mostly use Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Because the Core Ultra 5 model is a Copilot+ PC, the NPU can run Windows Studio Effects (background blur, eye contact and automatic framing) without loading the CPU. Business Standard also lists Copilot+ features including improved Windows Search, Generative Erase, Restyle and Recall. Which features you actually get can depend on your region, language and Windows build.
MensXP found the preinstalled software unobtrusive. Digit singles out Lenovo Vantage as a useful control panel for battery health, BIOS updates and diagnostics.
Business Standard reported a problem the other reviewers didn't: several unexpected restarts over two weeks, even after installing the available updates. One reviewer's experience doesn't show a widespread defect. If you buy one, though, install BIOS and driver updates through Vantage straight away and keep an eye out for random reboots while you're still within the return period.
Battery Life
MensXP got about 10–12 hours of mixed everyday use from the 60Wh battery. Other reviews were in the same range or better: the 12-hour 27-minute battery life is solid according to 91mobiles, and Digit recorded 13 hours 59 minutes in its battery test. Lenovo's Rapid Charge Boost claims up to two hours of use from a 15-minute charge. Being able to charge over USB-C means one USB-C PD charger can replace the barrel adapter in your bag.
Verdict: A Solid Windows Laptop, If You Get the Right Model
The Core Ultra 5 322 version of the IdeaPad Slim 3i Gen 11 does the everyday basics well: a tall 16:10 screen, a comfortable keyboard with a number pad, Windows Hello face sign-in, dual-channel RAM, a spare SSD slot, long battery life and a genuine Copilot+ NPU. The trade-offs are a colour-limited 60Hz panel, a single USB-C port, integrated graphics, a hinge MensXP found wobbly, and benchmark results that 91mobiles says trail some competitors at this price.
Who it suits:
- Students and office workers who mostly use browsers, Office and video calls
- Anyone who wants some room for RAM and storage upgrades later
Who should look elsewhere:
- Photo and video editors, because of the 45% NTSC panel
- Gamers, because of the integrated graphics
- Anyone who buys by the "Slim 3i" name alone, because a Core 7 350 model with the same name has a 17 TOPS NPU and isn't a Copilot+ PC
