A laptop promotes a global Microsoft 365 conference, surrounded by video-call speakers, app icons, and a January calendar.
M365 Con 27 is a free, online, community-run Microsoft conference. It is not the big in-person Las Vegas event, and the two are easy to confuse. This one is aimed at admins, developers and data people who want a cheap, role-specific way to catch up on Microsoft 365, Copilot, Power Platform, Azure and security. Registration is open and the agenda is already public.

What was announced

M365 Con 27 takes place online from January 11-22, 2027, and is free to attend. The organizer's press release, issued from Stuttgart on October 6, 2026, says the event is founded by Microsoft MVP Mirko Peters, and will feature more than 120 speakers, including more than 90 Microsoft MVPs. It also says the content will focus on implementing, securing, governing and scaling Microsoft technologies in real-world environments.

Those headline numbers are the organizer's own claims. The event's public schedule confirms that named speakers are booked. I could not independently confirm the totals of 120+ speakers or 90+ MVPs. A companion blog on the organizer's podcast site, m365.fm, says the programme is planned to include around 120 sessions and more than 120 speakers. That site is part of the same organizer network, so it is not independent corroboration.

The ten-day track list

The program is split into themed days. Per the release, they are:

  1. Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, governance and low-code.
  2. Business Apps: Dynamics 365, Business Central and AI in business applications.
  3. Power BI and Microsoft Fabric: analytics and the data foundations AI needs.
  4. Copilot Studio: agents, agentic AI and automation.
  5. Azure and Microsoft 365 architecture, governance and compliance.
  6. Microsoft Apps and Windows 365: Cloud PCs and the modern workplace.
  7. Microsoft 365 Copilot and Office 365: adoption and practical implementation.
  8. Cybersecurity and Entra: identity, Zero Trust and security.
  9. Microsoft development: APIs, extensibility and development platforms.
  10. Azure AI Foundry and Logic Apps: AI engineering, integration and automation.

The two weeks are not ten consecutive days. The schedule lists weekday dates only (January 11–15 and 18–22), based on the event page as retrieved.

What is on the posted agenda

The schedule on the event site gives a better sense of the content than the release does. These are examples, not a full list, and the agenda may change.

  • Agent governance: sessions on managing and governing AI agents, including one on Agent 365 and one on agent identity, lifecycle and support.
  • Power Platform and Dynamics 365: a talk on building code apps with prompts, plus sessions on connecting D365 Finance and Operations to Azure Logic Apps and on using Dataverse with Copilot Studio via MCP servers, connectors and knowledge sources.
  • Fabric and Power BI: Fabric workspace design and automating Power BI workflows with Semantic Link Labs.
  • Azure and infrastructure: sovereign landing zones on Azure and a Bicep-versus-Terraform comparison.
  • Microsoft 365 administration: a Microsoft 365 admin toolkit session, a SharePoint admin agent for tenant governance, and a practical guide to Copilot in OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Security and identity: a session on the new Zero Trust Assessment as a step beyond Secure Score, one on using Purview to find data exposure early, and one titled "How to Kill Active Directory?"
  • Developers: CLI tools with .NET, Microsoft Graph for enterprise applications, and production patterns for Foundry-based AI agents.

Every session in the retrieved schedule carries a "Replay Planned" label. That suggests recordings are intended, but I found no stated replay terms or access window, so don't count on on-demand viewing until the organizers say so.

Don't confuse it with the Las Vegas conference

This is a different event from the Microsoft 365 Community Conference. That one is a separate in-person gathering, listed as May 4-6, 2027 in Las Vegas. M365 Con 27 is independent, online and free. The press release does not say Microsoft sponsors it, so don't read the MVP count as an official Microsoft endorsement.

How to get value from it

  • Pick your day, not the whole fortnight. Admins might prioritize the Azure and Microsoft 365 governance day, the Windows 365 day and the Entra and security day. Developers will want the development and Foundry days.
  • Check the time zones. Session times on the schedule show clock times without an obvious zone label in the retrieved text. Confirm the zone on the registration page before planning around live sessions.
  • Watch the agent-governance sessions. Several talks (Agent 365, agent identity and lifecycle, Purview with Foundry) address how to control AI agents once they exist. That is a question many tenants are facing now.
  • Treat it as community content. Sessions come from consultants, architects and MVPs, so expect practitioner opinion and some vendor-adjacent pitches. Microsoft's own documentation remains the authority on features and licensing.

Caveats

The release is promotional, and its reach claims should be read that way. These include the claim of more than 300,000 combined LinkedIn followers for selected speakers and the audience figures for the September 2026 DACH edition. The DACH figures are 59 sessions, 63 speakers, 43 MVPs, 20,000+ YouTube views and 13,000+ content listens. One community post about the DACH event, from MVPTreff, gave a different speaker total of 66, so treat the DACH numbers as unsettled. The release also calls the event one of the largest concentrations of MVPs, which is the organizer's framing and not something I could verify.

If you can spare a few lunch hours in January, the free price and the replay plans make this a low-risk way to catch up on Copilot, agents, Fabric and Entra. Check the live agenda first, because sessions and speakers can change.
