What Mojang calls it
Mojang's official changelog is titled Minecraft: Bedrock Edition 26.62 Hotfix Changelog, posted 5 November 2026. UpdateCrazy, the site that prompted this story, labels it "Update 1.062 (version 1.062.000)" for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The official changelog uses only the 26.62 name. It gives no console package numbers and doesn't say the update has reached every platform.
Other outlets disagree on the console number. MP1st calls the same hotfix console patch 1.063. So treat "1.062" and "1.063" as unconfirmed, outlet-specific labels. Check the version shown on your own console's update screen.
The four fixes
Mojang's changelog is short. It lists no new features, only fixes:
- Graphical: Fixed an issue where block selection prevents interaction with entities inside blocks.
- Stability, Xbox: Improve stability on Xbox when under significant memory pressure.
- Stability, Nintendo Switch 2: A crash that could occur when rendering scenes with a large number of objects is fixed.
- Realms: cached cloud sync settings could sometimes overwrite config values used during a Realms purchase. The wording is taken from the official note as relayed by MP1st. That bug is now fixed.
What the notes don't say
The official note leaves a lot unspecified:
- Xbox: It doesn't name Xbox models. It doesn't quantify the improvement or define "significant memory pressure". The wording is "improve", not "eliminate", so don't read it as a guaranteed end to Xbox crashes. It also isn't a general performance boost, despite UpdateCrazy's claim of "gameplay performance improvements".
- Switch 2: There's no object-count threshold and no description of the scene type.
- Block and entity fix: It doesn't say which blocks or entities are affected.
- Realms: The word "sometimes" matters. The note doesn't describe payment outcomes or affected accounts. It doesn't cover Realms connectivity, subscriptions or billing in general, and it doesn't claim to fix every cloud-sync problem.
Some known issues stay open. MP1st lists several still-open problems, including Minecraft Bedrock on Xbox series X fails to sync cloud save data. That's a separate bug from the Realms purchase fix. Don't assume this hotfix touches it.
Rollout and availability
Mojang says the hotfix will become available on each platform as it's approved, so please allow a little time for it to reach you. The timing differs by platform:
- The Minecraft Wiki lists a November 4, 2026 release for Windows, iOS, iPadOS and Fire OS.
- UpdateCrazy reported PS5 and Xbox availability on November 6.
- MP1st described it as live on all platforms.
- Mojang's own note confirms none of these dates, so your platform may be a day or two behind.
If the update isn't showing yet:
- Check for updates through your platform's normal game-update menu or store.
- Wait. Mojang says staggered approval is expected.
- Confirm the version afterward. Windows builds, per the Minecraft Wiki, carry the internal version 1.26.6201.0. I couldn't verify equivalent console numbers.
Why it matters
This is a hotfix for the previous release, 26.60, which Mojang published on October 27, 2026. That makes it a cleanup patch. Xbox players hitting memory-related instability, Switch 2 players seeing scene-rendering crashes and anyone buying a Realm are the clearest beneficiaries. Everyone else gets the block-selection interaction fix.
UpdateCrazy's mentions of an earlier "1.061" update and a "patch 2.73" aren't supported by Mojang's changelog, so I've left them out.
