A hero and dragon overlook a fantasy kingdom above gaming devices linked by a glowing cloud network.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is coming to Xbox on PC on November 18, 2026, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The headline is the entitlement, not "a PC version." This isn't the game's first PC release, and the Play Anywhere support is a late addition.

A hero and dragon overlook a fantasy kingdom above gaming devices linked by a glowing cloud network. What Capcom announced

Capcom's PR team announced the date on Xbox Wire on October 7. The game is currently available on Xbox Series X|S. It will launch on Xbox on PC on November 18, 2026, with Xbox Play Anywhere support, so players can use Xbox Series X|S, Windows 11 PCs and compatible handhelds at no additional cost. Capcom says save data, additional game content and achievements carry over between devices.

Microsoft's Play Anywhere page backs this up. The announcement names Windows 11 PCs. The program page says progress is stored with Xbox, so players can resume on another supported device with their saves, add-ons and achievements.

Why this matters: it isn't the first PC release

The game launched on March 13, 2026. It shipped for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S. Windows Central's review listed PC (Steam) among the platforms and marked Xbox Play Anywhere and Game Pass as unsupported. RPG Site also criticized the lack of Play Anywhere, noting it would have allowed play on a handheld and an Xbox Series X with the same save file.

So the November 18 release fills that gap, and it is a distinct Xbox-side listing. Capcom's announcement doesn't say whether a Steam purchase converts or shares saves with the Xbox version. Play Anywhere covers digital games owned through Xbox or Windows Store channels, so don't assume a Steam copy carries over.

How Play Anywhere works, and its limits

Xbox's program page sets out the rules:

  • Digital only. Play Anywhere only applies to digital games, not discs. The page says purchases can come from the Xbox Store, the Windows Store, or digital codes at participating retailers.
  • One device at a time. You can't be signed into the same game on a console, a PC and a handheld at once.
  • One set of achievements. Gamerscore and achievements are shared, not duplicated per platform.
  • DLC follows you. Add-ons, season passes, consumables and in-game unlocks you buy or earn are also playable across devices.
  • Handheld support is specific. The page says Play Anywhere games are supported on Windows 11 gaming handhelds. It doesn't say every handheld works.

To get started, sign in with the Xbox account that owns the game. On console, it shows as "Ready to Install" under "My Games and Apps." On Windows, open the Xbox app and look in "My Library." The Play Anywhere page also lists system prerequisites: the Windows 10 Anniversary Update or later on PC, and the latest update on the console.

What isn't confirmed

Capcom's announcement doesn't cover several things readers will want to know:

  • PC system requirements, install size, frame rate or resolution.
  • Whether the free trial that exists on Xbox Series X|S will appear on Xbox PC.
  • Whether the Xbox PC version shares saves with any other PC edition.

Newsy Today reports a $69.99 price. That matches the $69.99 price on the Xbox Store listing, which Windows Central also gave for the console version. Capcom's announcement text doesn't confirm a separate Xbox PC price, so treat the figure as unconfirmed for the PC release.

Other items in the announcement

  • Free Play Days. Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin get a three-hour timed trial from October 22 to October 25, 2026. No Game Pass membership is required. It is a trial, not four days of unlimited play.
  • Anniversary. The series marks its 10th anniversary on October 8.
  • Side Story: Rudy. The DLC is available now and included at no extra cost in the Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition and Deluxe Kit. Owners of the base game don't get it free.
  • Post-game content. After updating to the latest version and loading cleared save data, players can attempt a high-difficulty final boss. Beating it brings Royal versions of nearly all monsters to the map.

What to do now

  1. If you own the Xbox Series X|S digital version, you should be set for November 18. Check "My Library" in the Xbox app on Windows 11 once the PC version goes live.
  2. If you own the Steam version, don't expect a conversion. Capcom hasn't said anything about one.
  3. If you're considering buying, wait for the PC store listing for requirements and any Xbox PC-specific details.
  4. If you want a taste first, the earlier two games' trials arrive in late October.

Play Anywhere is a good deal for people who already own the console version, and a late fix for a gap reviewers flagged at launch. The remaining questions are the PC specs and whether the Steam edition gets any bridge to Xbox saves.
