NVIDIA has pushed NVIDIA App 11.0.9.585 to GeForce owners. It adds more games to the driver-level DLSS Override list, plus a few new Optimal Settings profiles. It isn't a new DLSS launch, so it won't change your frame rates on its own. It's a housekeeping update, but one with a few details worth knowing before you go hunting for new toggles.

NVIDIA updated the App with DLSS Override profiles for 19 games and optimal graphics settings for six titles. Version 11.0.9.585 also includes security fixes. NVIDIA's own release notes are terse. They list only "various stability/security fixes" and don't say which bugs or vulnerabilities were addressed. That's a familiar pattern for app-level updates. It also means admins and enthusiasts have nothing specific to evaluate beyond "update when convenient."

The 19 games on the DLSS Override list are:

  • Honeycomb: The World Beyond
  • WARDOGS
  • PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS
  • Aniimo
  • 007 First Light
  • Active Matter
  • Enlisted
  • Dragon's Dogma 2
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • AION 2
  • Halloween: The Game
  • HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush
  • SILENT HILL: Townfall
  • CONTROL Resonant
  • ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE
  • DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered
  • STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
  • Gears of War: E-Day
  • Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival

Optimal Settings profiles are listed for AION 2, Aniimo, EA SPORTS FC 27, Gears of War: E-Day and STAR WARS: Galactic Racer. TweakTown's report also names CONTROL Resonant as a sixth, but NVIDIA's release-note text as captured here shows only the five above. Gears of War: E-Day appears on both the override and Optimal Settings lists.

What DLSS Override does

DLSS Override lets the NVIDIA App apply newer DLSS components to a supported game. You don't have to rely on whatever the developer exposes in the in-game menu. Depending on the title and GPU, these controls can include DLSS model presets, Super Resolution and Frame Generation settings.

NVIDIA's earlier documentation spells out the GPU split. Multi Frame Generation Override is for GeForce RTX 50 Series users when Frame Generation is on in-game. The Frame Generation model upgrade covers RTX 40 and 50 Series. The transformer model upgrade covers all GeForce RTX users for Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and DLAA.

What the update does not tell you

  • No per-game breakdown. The list expands the games recognized by the feature, but NVIDIA doesn't say which overrides are available for each title. Appearing on the list doesn't mean a game gets every DLSS feature.
  • The game's own DLSS integration still matters. An override upgrades what's already there. It doesn't bolt DLSS onto a game that lacks a suitable implementation.
  • The list isn't all new. NVIDIA's own history shows overlap. 007 First Light was in the 11.0.9 notes, and Active Matter shows up in the notes as well. TweakTown also flags 007 First Light, Active Matter and AION 2 as repeats. NVIDIA doesn't explain why titles reappear. Treat "19 new games" as shorthand for "19 entries in this release's list."
  • Optimal Settings is a separate feature. It applies a game-specific graphics preset tuned to your hardware. It isn't an override, and neither list is a benchmark. NVIDIA published no performance or image-quality figures.

How to check your games

NVIDIA documents the path in its release notes:

  1. Open the NVIDIA App and go to Graphics.
  2. Select Program Settings and choose the game.
  3. Open Driver Settings and look for DLSS Override.
  4. For model choices, NVIDIA points to DLSS Override - Model Presets, where the Recommended option is the one it highlights for the 11.0.9 release. Frame Generation modes sit under their own DLSS Override entry.

If a game is on the list but you see no override options, expect that to come down to your GPU or the game's DLSS integration. NVIDIA's notes don't describe any other cause. You can also set a global DLSS Override under Graphics > Global Setting. Per-game settings give you more control if one title misbehaves.

Context: the 11.0.9 family

This build follows 11.0.9.565. That version introduced support for RTX Spark devices and additional CPU monitoring statistics. The main 11.0.9 release also added DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction support and per-game Resizable BAR controls. So 11.0.9.585 is a small increment on a feature-rich branch.

VideoCardz also reports that users have found a GPU prioritization control in this version, under System > Advanced. NVIDIA's official release notes for 11.0.9.585 don't mention it. It reportedly appears on at least one RTX 5090 system, while an RTX 5070 Ti user on the same app version can't see it. That's based on user reports, not NVIDIA documentation. Don't expect it on your machine, and don't treat it as a supported feature yet.

Practical takeaways

  • Update if you play any listed game. The security fixes are also a reason to install, even though NVIDIA doesn't detail them.
  • Don't expect a performance jump from the app update alone. Any gains come from the DLSS model and mode you choose per game, and they vary by title and GPU.
  • Verify in the game. The NVIDIA Overlay's DLSS statistics can show which override is active. NVIDIA's 11.0.5 notes describe this under Alt+Z > Statistics.
  • Pre-release titles are on the list. Some entries, such as Gears of War: E-Day, are unreleased games. Their profiles are groundwork for launch, and real-world behavior will only be clear once the games ship.

Bottom line

This is a modest, useful compatibility update. If your favorite game is on the list, check Program Settings and see what your GPU allows. If it isn't, nothing changes. NVIDIA's public notes don't say which overrides each game gets, so you'll have to look in the app on your own system to find out.
