Know what you're dealing with first
Rob Run is an online game. Kefir's help center says both configurations need 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, DirectX 11, an internet connection and 20 GB of free storage. Steam's listing also shows that it launched into Early Access with Easy Anti-Cheat. Early Access titles change often. Steam's own note says such games may or may not change further.
A crash, a stutter and a dropped connection are three different problems. Before you touch any settings, write down the exact error code, if there is one. Then change one thing at a time. That's slower than clicking everything at once, but it's the only way to learn what worked.
Is it your PC or the server?
Some of the November 6 reports described loading stuck at 0% or 50% on a "Compiling Shaders" screen. One guide on the topic, from GamerBlurb, says numerous players reported freezes at 0% and 50% on November 6, 2026. It adds that Kefir also acknowledged technical problems affecting the EU server.
Treat that with some caution:
- I could not find an official Kefir notice confirming the outage, and Steam community posts were the only corroboration.
- Those posts are player testimony. They suggest the freeze affected EU players, but they don't prove the scope, cause or duration.
- Another site tracking the game notes that Rob Run has no public status board.
The practical point holds either way: a "Compiling Shaders" screen does not by itself prove your shader cache is broken. Check Kefir's channels for anything matching your time and region. If you find nothing, run the local checks below, but don't assume the fault is on your PC.
The official baseline checks
Kefir's help center gives a short routine for games that won't load or keep freezing. It says to check your internet connection, restart both the game and Steam, and update your graphics driver. Then verify the files in Steam:
- Open a few websites on the same PC to confirm your connection works.
- Close Rob Run and restart Steam, then check for a game update.
- Update your graphics driver if it's out of date.
- In your Steam Library, right-click Rob Run and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
- Let the check finish before you relaunch.
File verification repairs missing or damaged files. It won't bring back an unavailable server. If restarting Steam fixes things, you can stop there.
If the game crashes
Kefir's crash advice is simple: close unused applications and restart your PC. If crashes continue, send support your PC specs, a description of the crash and the error message.
Note when the crash happens: before the main menu, while joining a server, or mid-session. That detail is more useful to support than "it doesn't work."
Compiling Shaders stuck at 0% or 50%
A DirectX shader-cache reset is a reasonable local experiment, but I found no Kefir page that documents it for Rob Run. Treat it as an optional Windows step, not a guaranteed fix. Try it once, after verifying your files and checking for service notices:
- Close Rob Run completely.
- Press Windows + R, type
cleanmgrand run it. - Pick your Windows drive if asked.
- Tick DirectX Shader Cache and leave the other categories unticked.
- Confirm the deletion and restart the PC.
- Launch Rob Run again.
Windows rebuilds shader data as needed, so the first launch afterward may be slower. If the freeze continues while a server problem is acknowledged, stop repeating cache resets and reinstalls. They won't help.
Stuttering and mouse-triggered frame drops
Kefir's troubleshooting index lists a dedicated article about FPS dropping when you move the mouse. The excerpt I could see says the game can lag, and FPS can fall to single digits every time you move the mouse, even though it runs smooth when staying still. I couldn't read the article's full fix, so I won't invent one.
A sensible test:
- Compare the same in-game activity with and without mouse movement.
- If the hitch follows the mouse, check your mouse's polling-rate setting. This is a general diagnostic idea, not a documented Rob Run fix.
- If the stutter isn't tied to the mouse, disable overlays one at a time and test.
- Keep a short log of each change and its result.
Error codes and Kefir's suggested fixes
The help center's error list is the most specific official material available. This table follows it:
| Code | Meaning | Kefir's suggested action |
|---|---|---|
| E-0101 / E-0110 | The game cannot connect to the server to download configuration or startup data. | Check your internet connection and make sure websites load correctly. |
| E-0102 | Data downloaded with errors or was blocked, often on guest networks or because of antivirus/firewall interference. | Switch to a home network without an authorization page, disable proxy, or temporarily pause HTTPS scanning. |
| E-0124 | An internal game asset loading system error. | Verify the integrity of game files via Steam Properties. |
| E-0201 | The connection to the game server was lost and not restored. | Check your connection and restart the game. |
| E-0301 / E-0302 | An outdated version of the game. | Close the game, restart Steam, and update. |
| E-0303 / E-0304 | Corrupted or mismatched game data. | Wait 10–15 minutes, disable proxy, verify files and update. |
| E-0401 | Steam authentication failed. | Confirm Steam is online with the correct account, then restart Steam and the game. |
| E-0403 / E-0404 | Epic Online Services authorization problem. | Verify files, add the game to antivirus exceptions and restart the PC. |
| E-0405 | Steam isn't responding, or antivirus blocked a game library. | Check antivirus quarantine, launch Steam, verify files and start from the Steam Library. |
| E-0501 / E-0502 | Easy Anti-Cheat isn't running, is corrupted or is blocked. | Launch through Steam, stop antivirus, verify files and restart. |
| E-0601 | Keyboard and mouse not detected, often over Remote Desktop or cloud streaming. | Connect a physical keyboard and mouse before launch and avoid remote sessions. |
| E-0904 | An unexpected internal in-game error. If it persists, copy the error window text and send it to support. | Restart the game. |
A note on antivirus advice
Kefir's text suggests stopping antivirus for some anti-cheat and authorization errors. Treat that as a short diagnostic step, not a permanent setting. For E-0102, the official text is narrower: it talks about pausing HTTPS scanning, not switching off all protection. If a test works only with security software off, add an exclusion for the game rather than leaving the machine unprotected.
Build a useful support report
Kefir's guidance asks for a description of what you were doing and a screenshot or video. For crashes, it asks for specs and the error text. A guide on support steps adds that the UID appears beneath your character name on the right after you press Esc, and Copy UID saves it to the clipboard.
A good report includes:
- Your UID and player name, if you can reach the in-game menu.
- The exact error code and text, with a screenshot.
- CPU, GPU, memory and Windows version.
- The approximate time, the server or region, and what you were doing.
- Whether the failure happens at startup, shader loading, server joining or mid-play.
- The steps you tried, and what each one changed.
- The shortest sequence that reproduces it, such as launching through Steam, reaching the loading screen and getting the same code.
Only the UID location and general report contents come from Kefir-related guidance. The structure above is a recommended way to present them.
Bottom line
Start with the official basics: confirm your connection, restart Steam, update the game and your GPU driver, and verify the files. Match any error code to Kefir's list before reinstalling. Treat the shader-cache reset and the mouse-polling test as optional experiments. If the November 6 loading freezes match your symptoms, remember the evidence for a server-side cause is community-based and not officially confirmed. Check Kefir's channels before spending an evening wiping caches.
