Visitors explore an Xbox gaming showcase beneath Seattle’s illuminated Space Needle at dusk.
Xbox has set the date for the last stop of its 2026 FanFest Tour. FanFest arrives at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) in Seattle on Thursday, November 12, 2026, as the final stop of this year's eight-city tour. The date matters because it sits right next to Xbox's birthday. Xbox will celebrate 25 years on November 15. That makes the event a three-day-early anniversary party.

This piece covers what Xbox has confirmed, how to try for a ticket, and what is still unknown. Some fan chatter has already gotten ahead of the facts.

What Xbox has confirmed

Xbox Wire pitches the event as a homecoming. The company says it is bringing fans together "in the city where it all began." It calls the event an anniversary-week celebration of the games, people and memories that shaped 25 years of the brand.

The announced activities for MoPOP are:

  • Hands-on gameplay
  • Xbox history and artifacts
  • Chances to connect with people behind the games and with other players
  • Xbox trivia
  • Collectibles and fan activities
  • An Xbox Gear pop-up shop
  • "Plenty of surprises," with no details given

Xbox has not published event hours, capacity, a game lineup, guest names or a venue schedule. Treat the list above as an outline of what Xbox says to expect. It is not a guaranteed itinerary.

How to try for a ticket

Admission runs through sweepstakes, not a ticket sale. Xbox's August schedule update said tickets for every stop would be awarded through city-specific sweepstakes. The same pattern applies to Seattle. There are two separate entry routes, and they differ in an important way.

1. Xbox FanFest Seattle Ticket Sweepstakes

  • It offers a chance to win entry to the event.
  • Winners are selected at random and notified by email.
  • Entrants and attendees must be 18 or older.
  • Travel and lodging are not included.
  • Xbox lists it as no purchase necessary, open to eligible U.S. residents 18+, and void where prohibited.

In practice, this one suits people who can already get to Seattle on their own. You would win a place at the event, not a trip.

2. Xbox FanFest Green Ticket Trip Sweepstakes

  • It has a single grand prize: a trip for the winner plus one guest to attend FanFest Seattle.
  • Xbox says it is open to eligible residents 18+, with no purchase necessary and void where prohibited.
  • Xbox's pitch is aimed at fans anywhere in the world. Its framing is "no matter where in the world you play."

Xbox points entrants to separate official rules for eligibility and prize terms. The announcement does not say what the trip includes, such as flights, hotel nights or the departure city. Read the official rules before assuming anything about travel coverage.

Deadline

Both sweepstakes close on October 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. As of October 6, that is about five days away. Entries go through Xbox's FanFest page.

How Seattle fits the tour

Xbox first announced the tour on April 2. It named Los Angeles, which was tied to the Xbox Games Showcase, plus Cologne, London, Mexico City, Seattle, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto. Xbox said each event would be tailored to its host city and its local community.

The August 24 schedule filled in most of the dates:

CityDate
CologneAugust 26 (at gamescom)
TokyoSeptember 17 (during Tokyo Game Show)
LondonSeptember 26
Mexico CityOctober 17
SydneyOctober 17
TorontoNovember 6
SeattleNovember 12 (confirmed October 5)

At that time Seattle was listed only as "more info coming soon." Independent coverage from Digital Citizen noted that Seattle was the only destination in that group without a confirmed date.

Separating fact from speculation

Fans are already guessing about what Seattle might bring. Reactions on social media after the announcement ranged from disappointment that it isn't a reveal event for the next-generation hardware to hopes of new information. That is chatter, not reporting. The Xbox announcement identifies no game reveal, hardware news or separate anniversary showcase.

Three cautions apply:

  • "Surprises" is not an announcement. Xbox only promises unspecified surprises.
  • This is the final stop of this year's tour. It is not the end of FanFest as a concept, and Xbox has not said that.
  • Event content may be location-specific. Xbox has said each stop is tailored to its city, so don't assume Seattle will match what other cities got.

Why PC and Xbox players might care

For readers who treat Xbox as a PC and ecosystem story, the event is mainly a community and history celebration. It is not a platform or software release. Still, Xbox's anniversary programming has touched the PC side. Xbox's August update said players who sign in on console, PC or the Xbox mobile app receive a 25th Anniversary profile badge, available through the end of 2026. It also covered curated Game Pass collections playable on console and/or PC. If you can't get to Seattle, the 25th anniversary hub is where Xbox says the wider celebration lives.

Practical takeaways

  1. Decide which sweepstakes fits you. Choose the ticket entry if you can get yourself to Seattle. Choose the Green Ticket Trip if you need travel covered, and read its rules first.
  2. Enter before October 11 at 11:59 p.m. PT, and confirm your eligibility. The ticket entry is described as open to U.S. residents.
  3. Watch your email, since winners are notified that way.
  4. Don't plan around rumors. Expect the activities Xbox listed, and treat any reveal as unconfirmed.

Xbox has been clear about the basics: when, where, who can enter and by when. It has been deliberately vague about the surprises, which is exactly where speculation tends to grow.
