October’s Xbox Game Pass calendar is taking shape, but a preliminary list of ten games is not the same thing as a ten-game announcement from Microsoft. ixbt.games reports ten titles scheduled across the month. Microsoft’s September 15 Game Pass roundup, however, names only two October entries: Keeper and Gears of War: E-Day. Other games have appeared in separate announcements and roundups, so the list is useful for planning—not a guarantee that every title has the same subscription requirements or platform availability.

The reported October schedule

The ten-game preliminary schedule reported by ixbt.games is:

DateGame
October 2Keeper
October 6Gears of War: E-Day
October 8Echo Weaver; Neon Abyss 2
October 13Deep Dish Dungeon; Valor Mortis
October 15Beyond These Stars; Chained Beasts
October 27The Séance of Blake Manor
October 29Terrible Lizards

Pure Xbox also lists these ten dates in its October Game Pass roundup. That corroborates the reported schedule, but does not turn it into a single official Microsoft announcement. Nor should readers assume this is the complete October lineup.

What Microsoft has confirmed for subscribers

The subscription details matter as much as the dates:

  • October 2 — Keeper: Xbox Wire says the game is newly joining Game Pass Premium; it is already in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Microsoft lists cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This is a tier expansion, not a brand-new game arriving simultaneously in every tier.
  • October 6 — Gears of War: E-Day: Microsoft confirms day-one access through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Its September roundup lists Xbox Series X|S, PC, handheld and cloud.

For Gears players who want to be ready at launch, The Coalition says pre-installation begins September 29 at 8 a.m. Pacific (15:00 UTC) on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. The distinction worth watching is that pre-installing does not unlock early play: Premium Edition buyers can begin on October 1, while Ultimate and PC Game Pass members gain access on October 6.

The Coalition’s origin story takes Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago back to the first Locust emergence, fourteen years before the original Gears of War. For friends planning to play together, Microsoft says two-player split-screen is console-only; online play has separate multiplayer-subscription requirements. That is a more useful detail than assuming every advertised way to play works identically on a Windows PC and an Xbox console.

The rest of the slate needs a tier check

The reported October 8 pairing brings Echo Weaver and the roguelike sequel Neon Abyss 2. October 13 adds Deep Dish Dungeon and, according to ixbt.games, Valor Mortis, a first-person soulslike from Ghostrunner developer One More Level. The remaining reported dates stretch through October 29. Separate coverage has identified Neon Abyss 2 as an October 8 Game Pass title, but Microsoft’s September 15 roundup does not provide tier-by-tier details for all eight games beyond Keeper and Gears.

The practical takeaway: mark the dates, but check the listing for your subscription tier and device before counting on a download—particularly for PC-only or tier-specific additions. October’s calendar is promising; its fine print is still the part that decides what you can actually play.
