The Ratatan problem
Brady calls Ratatan, the spiritual successor to Patapon, an Xbox One release for October 15. Microsoft's store doesn't agree. The Xbox Store listing names only Xbox Series X|S under "Play with," and it shows a release date of October 14, 2026. That one-day gap is probably a time-zone issue, but the missing Xbox One entry is harder to explain away.
Coverage of the publisher's announcements matches the store. Gaming Debugged reported that the full 1.0 version is set to launch on 15th October 2026, arriving on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside its PC 1.0 release. Worthplaying's platform list also leaves out Xbox One.
It also isn't really a new Xbox arrival. DayOne notes that Ratatan initially launched into Early Access on Steam, and a console version arrived on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 this July. October brings version 1.0, which Gaming Debugged says will introduce Chapters 3 and 4, bringing the story to its conclusion with a final world and an ultimate boss encounter. Series X|S owners have something to look forward to. Xbox One owners should not count on it.
The store listing also says online multiplayer on console requires Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate. That matters, because four-player co-op is the main draw.
Bottom line: Treat Ratatan as a Series X|S release unless Microsoft adds an Xbox One listing.
Confirmed for Xbox One
Echo Weaver (October 8)
Echo Weaver is a time-loop platformer. You don't unlock new powers; you progress by learning more about the world. Publisher Akupara Games describes it on the Xbox Store as a "knowledge-based Metroidvania" for fans of Outer Wilds and Ori and the Blind Forest. The listing names Xbox One, Series X|S, PC and handhelds, and says the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery. It also lists Game Pass Ultimate and a PC-only subscription, which fits TrueAchievements' claim of a day-one launch on Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Deck of Haunts (October 8)
In Deck of Haunts you play the haunted house. Microsoft's listing says you lay out rooms by day to protect your "Heart room." At night you use cards to scare, or kill, the visitors, then harvest their essence to grow the mansion. It is single-player, lists Xbox One and Series X|S, and supports achievements and cloud saves. TrueAchievements says the Steam version launched in 2025 to a good reception.
Bluey's Happy Snaps (October 15)
Bandai Namco's official page lists Xbox One and an October 15 date. You explore Brisbane with Bluey and Bingo, take photos, collect stickers and fill a scrapbook. Gameloft Brisbane developed it with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios. Bandai Namco has confirmed a day-one Game Pass launch. TrueAchievements says it arrives on Ultimate and PC Game Pass, but we could not confirm the specific tiers, so check before you plan around it.
Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition (October 15, reported)
Atari is publishing both, and Digital Eclipse developed them. Microsoft's listings confirm Xbox One and Series X|S support, but neither one shows a release date. The October 15 date comes from TrueAchievements.
TrueAchievements calls Retro Roundup a collection of 11 Toy Story and Pixar titles. Atari's store description is more exact. It is five games, four Toy Story titles plus A Bug's Life, and 11 versions once you count the console and handheld editions separately. The games covered are:
- Toy Story (1995)
- Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! (1999)
- Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000)
- Toy Story Racer (2001)
- A Bug's Life (1998)
The collection adds a rewind button, cheat codes ("Rex's Cheat Codes") for unlimited lives or invincibility, and a practice mode. There is also a virtual museum, a music player and new interviews with people who worked on the games.
Toy Story 3 Complete Edition remasters the 2010 game with better graphics, higher resolution and a higher frame rate. It includes Story Mode, the sandbox Toy Box Mode and local two-player co-op. TrueAchievements says it adds content that used to be PS3-exclusive. The store listing only says content "previously restricted to certain versions," such as playing as Emperor Zurg in Toy Box Mode and four extra Theme Packs. The store also lists a Double Pack bundle with both games.
The Wolf Among Us Remastered (October 29)
Telltale's official page gives the remaster an October 29, 2026 date on PC and consoles, and its announcement named Xbox One as a target platform. The remaster includes all five episodes of the original. TrueAchievements says it doesn't add much. Telltale lists more than a visual refresh, though:
- A new Noir Mode, a black-and-white look you can switch on or off at any time
- Better lighting, animation and environments
- Developer commentary, concept art, interviews, restored content and other archival material
Brady presents the remaster as a warm-up for The Wolf Among Us 2. That is a reasonable way to see it, but Telltale's page does not link the two or give a date for the sequel.
Reported but not independently confirmed
We could not find primary-source Xbox One listings for three games, so the details below come from TrueAchievements:
- Heartworm (October 1): A retro survival-horror game in which a grieving girl defends herself with a camera, in the vein of Fatal Frame. TrueAchievements cites 87% positive Steam reviews from 449 users since the 2025 PC launch.
- The Jackbox Party Pack 12 (October 15): Five party games you play with your phone as the controller: Idol Factions, We Forgot a Card, Debate and Switch, Megapals and Hyperface.
- Remothered: Red Nun's Legacy (October 27): The third game in the psychological horror series. Susan searches an Italian manor for her missing daughter.
RetroSpace is partly confirmed. Microsoft's Xbox Wire lists it for October 1 and describes a janitor on a space station swallowed by a sentient black hole, where you can play with stealth or go in shooting. That entry does not name specific consoles.
What this means for Xbox One owners
- The list mostly holds up. At least seven releases, counting both Toy Story games, are confirmed for Xbox One by Microsoft or the publisher.
- Check the "Play with" section of the store page before you buy. On Xbox listings it is the quickest way to see which consoles a game supports. The Ratatan listing shows why that matters.
- Game Pass will help. Echo Weaver and Bluey's Happy Snaps are both expected on Game Pass at launch, so subscribers can try them without buying.
- Smart Delivery helps if you upgrade later. The Echo Weaver and Toy Story listings include Smart Delivery, which should give you the Series X|S version if you move to a newer console.
Even if you drop Ratatan, the list still includes a Telltale remaster, two Digital Eclipse Toy Story releases and a couple of well-received indie games, which is a decent month for a 13-year-old console.
