Wifi is fine but Windows (2004) does not realize it yet...

Just an update: I just upgraded to 20H2, and the issue has gone away. Probably some bug, then. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Wifi is fine but Windows (2004) does not realize it yet...

Hi, I tried all those (modem reset, registry adaptation, re-installing network adapter). The troubleshooter was a bit useless because it reports nothing wrong. In fact, everything works fine apart from Spotify and the task bar indicator.

Wifi is fine but Windows (2004) does not realize it yet...

Hi all, I hope you won't mind me resuscitating this thread, but the issue has not gone away despite me downgrading to 1908. The thing is, occasionally (once every four days or so, I can't reproduce it though) the Explorer will show the little globe in the task bar but networking is fine. Only...

Windows won't upgrade to 2004 again after rollback.

Hm, without making it a fresh install (which is what I don't want)?

Windows won't upgrade to 2004 again after rollback.

Hi all, A while back I upgraded from 1909 to 2004. However, one particular piece of software started misbehaving and I had to roll back (there were a few other issues as well, but these were minor). Since then, that particular app has been updated for compatibility with 2004, but Windows update...

Wifi is fine but Windows (2004) does not realize it yet...

Thanks. Seems I cheered a bit too quickly - the issue has cropped up again, no idea why. Everything connects in spite of it, with the exception of Spotify (which does log me in, which is weird...). I'll try your solution, Josephur. Edit: performed a rollback from 2004 to 1903, and the issue has...

Wifi is fine but Windows (2004) does not realize it yet...

Okay guys, thanks for your time on this, but I'm afraid that after three days of jinxedness suddenly Windows has come to its senses again and the problem has evaporated. Which is really weird because to my knowledge I haven't updated anything. But the issue's gone, it seems for now. A bit like...

Wifi is fine but Windows (2004) does not realize it yet...

Hi, I have a weird bug in Windows 2004 that appears to have cropped earlier with wired networking (e.g., Windows shows no internet access but my internet is working fine.) and although it's more of a cosmetic issue than anything else, I wonder if there is something I can do about it. In short...

Cloning your SSD onto a new SSD

Hi, Apologies needed, turns out that the problems were caused by me not using the latest version of CloneZilla. I used it to clone the drive and that went swimmingly. Thanks!

Cloning your SSD onto a new SSD

I tried Clonezilla, but with an astounding lack of success, as it won't even boot properly. Back to square one.

Cloning your SSD onto a new SSD

Thanks. I did try that to clone my Linux install a while back, but it wasn't exactly overly user-friendly. That was three years ago though, so I shall give it a go on Win10.

Cloning your SSD onto a new SSD

Hi all, I'm currently in the process of moving over from MacOS to Windows. While it has not been a problem-free experience (is there really no affordable and user-friendly ref manager for Windows?) I'm generally satisfied with my machine. Thing is, though, that just now that I have everything...

Cloning an SSD to a new one - is it possible?

The most pressing one is a decent scientific reference manager. There are some available, and they're not horrible (even if some are), but none quite match the app I've been using on my Mac, Bookends. I shall probably end up with Zotero (as EndNote is entirely unacceptable), but a wider gamut of...

    Introduce Yourself.

Thanks for the welcome. As for Asus, I've had an unfortunate experience with that brand a while back. The reason for me to consider the T470s was that I really like the build quality of the machine (as with the T470). My hardware demands aren't that high, so it would make no sense to go for top...

Cloning an SSD to a new one - is it possible?

Hi, thanks to the help here I got the clone sorted. I still haven't bought the machine, but will do in January. The biggest headache is still finding satisfying replacements for the apps I used on my Mac. In some cases, I'm actually amazed about the lack of choice on Windows when compared to...

Cloning an SSD to a new one - is it possible?

Thank you so much for that! I really was afraid of having to invest another week to set up my machine.

Cloning an SSD to a new one - is it possible?

Hi all, Hoping I'm not duplicating anything obvious, but what I found was already quite old. As a recent convert (albeit one that's still unsure) from MacOS, I wondered whether it would be possible to simply "clone" my Lenovo T470's SSD to a new, bigger one, so that I don't need to reconfigure...

    Introduce Yourself.

Hi, I'm Ilja, and have been a Mac user since 1987. I'm seriously considering switching to Windows at least in part, forced by the limited hardware choices, restricted adaptability, and price (!) of Apple hardware. Plus, I really, really like the latest Lenovo Thinkpad models. I haven't made up...
