Backing up Win7 and all data to another HDD

Thanks for your response. Right now on my 1TB HDD I only have 200GB used up so a 'backup and restore' image will certainly fit on my temporary 500GB HDD. I think what I'll do is like you said. I will make the image if I can figure out how to, copy it over to my other 500GB HDD, then remove my...

Backing up Win7 and all data to another HDD

Ok, I am in a bit of a pickle here. I recently built a new computer, installed my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit along with 100 different programs I have on my new 1TB HDD. I would really like to take advantage of getting another identical 1TB HDD and have them in a RAID 0 configuration. Of course, I...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Ok, well it seems most if not all my BSOD are gone since I've somewhat stabalized my RAM. Right now all the RAM settings are on auto except for my QPI/DRAM voltage which I'm running manual @ 1.2500v with auto clocks of 9-9-9-24. I've been able to pass Prime95 and LinX. My RAM is designed to run...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Thanks for the replies. First I am going to start by increasing my QPI/DRAM voltage. A few others I talked to suggested this as well. So I will start there. If tha fails I will resort to some of the other methods mentioned. I am strictly running Microsoft Security Essentials now and have not...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

I knew it was too good to be true. I almost went a entire day without crashing but just before I was gonna go to sleep it happened again. Here is the latest. Wasn't doing anything special, just minimizing a folder to open a new one.

hmm... I use utorrent as a matter of fact and I love it. Can I ask why you would recommend BitTorrent over utorrent?

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Well yes, I did remove that version of Everest and installed a newer version with no problem and no crash. I am in the process of installing my programs all over again. Hopefully with success. I also did not install McAfee and got the MSE you recommended. I will surely keep you updated sir :-)

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Alrighty then... I basically wiped out everything and started with a clean slate. I got a new USB Wi-fi adapter that is Windows 7 'compatible'. I re-installed Windows 7 as well. I have got 3 BSOD crashes since redoing all this. The first two came when I was opening Lavalys Everest Ultimate. The...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Ok, I will give MSE a shot. Sucks not to be able to use a service I've paid for though. Still though, would you recommend a clean install of windows and a new wifi adapter? Any recommendation for a good compatable wifi USB adapter?

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Thanks for the advice :-). So you would really recommend getting a new wireless adapter then? What exactly do you mean by memory corruption? Is there something wrong with my ram? I have run memtest86 like 4 times up to 13 passes with no errors. At this point would you recommend a clean install...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Ok, well I just had my first BSOD in the past few days. I thought I was just about done with all of them and I go and get another few. Here are the latest... any ideas? Keep in mind I am overclocking to 4.20GHz on a i920. Dunno if that makes a difference or not. Thanks in advance! Jim

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Yes, at the moment I am crash free. I did end up deleting one of the Pure Networks folder I found as well as uninstalling the drivers like I said before. I have noticed that now I am no longer able to connect to my laptop to share files through homegroup. Well, that's not entirely true. I can...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

I could not find any uninstall .exe or anything like that in the Pure Netwoks Shared folder inside the 'Common Files' folder. I still cannot delete the Pure Networks Folder in the 'ProgramData' folder either. There is also nothing I can see to uninstall in control panel. The drivers do not show...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

I just looked under McAfee 'Program Permission' and I came accross this... Pure Networks Platform Service C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Pure Networks Shared\Platform\nmsrvc.exe and Pure Networks Platform Assistant C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Pure Networks...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

I see no program installed for Pure Networks. I did however uninstall the drivers from the 'device manager' list. I have not been able to track down any sort of updated driver for my Linksys Wireless USB Adapter. I did run memtest86 for 9 passes with no errors. I've had Prime95 running for...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Well, I tried uninstalling the 2 Pure Network drivers and seems they are gone now as they do not show up on the list. However, I can still not delete the folder for them in ProgramData. I ran memtest86 for 9 passes overnight with 0 errors which is a good thing. I plan to run Prime95 for more...

BSOD on my brand new computer. Pulling my hair out!!!!

Ok, of the 4 drivers you told me to uninstall I uninstalled 3 of them, not the Linksys one though. I did a little research and found out how to locate and uninstall the ones you mentioned. Over night I will run the memtest86. I ran Prime95 for about 10 minutes and came across no errors. Do you...
