About this tag
The tag 2.0 channel on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about stereo audio configuration in Windows, particularly when users encounter issues selecting 2.0 channel output. A common problem involves Windows only offering 5.1 Surround as the speaker setup option, even when the hardware only supports dual-channel audio. This typically occurs with motherboard audio that lacks multi-channel capabilities. Users seek help to restore the 2.0 channel selection in the Sound settings, often needing to troubleshoot driver or configuration issues to make the correct stereo option available.

Windows 7 Speaker Setup - Choose your configuration - Only 5.1 available?
Hi Wierd problem this morning. With my Windows 7 64-bit. I notice dual channel audio isn't working. This system is using motherboard audio (Link Removed). Which only has a single dual channel. So it should ONLY be able to support 2.0 channel audio. I go Sound > Right click speaker > Choose...- Chiefahol
