What happens if it is disabled? I have a perfectly working Acronis backup image of the entire drive, so do I need WRE at all? I love it that I can simply go back to all my updates, apps, and preferences reinstalled with my image. I am using Windows 10.
I have used Acronis True Image for years but it is now worthless because their customer support and tech support no longer function. and sometimes it makes faulty backups.
What other backup programs do you recommend for Win10/64?
Hello. I do a lot of cloning on all my machines, so far so good. I recently planned ahead and got a new laptop, to be able to go to W-11. Of course, I got one with Secure Boot. I am unable to do a clone any more as Acronis tries to boot from its USB media disk. I succeeded in getting rid of...

I have been using WSE 2016 for a few years now to manage a simple home network of 4 windows 4 PC's with one WSE 2016 server.
It worked fine over the past few years. I mainly use it for movie file storage and client backups. Recently some of the overnight backups stopped. No matter what I did the...

Hi,
I was using File History before the 1809 update and saw it was no longer working. I do not want an image- just file and folder backups.
Here are the steps I have done
Removed old File History backup and restarted- same issue. Further investigation showed that I was hitting MAX PATH 256...

I have a Dell XPS-17 L702X laptop running Windows 10 Pro x64. I upgraded my 500GB internal secondary drive to a 1TB drive. I did not do a quick format of this new 1TB but rather did the full, longer format. The new, upgraded 1TB secondary drive was made active and assigned the drive letter D...

From macrium to acronis or aomei backuper what would you recommend that works when a restore is necessary?

Hi If you aren't creating back up images of your OS, you should read this that I copied from a web page.
I like sharing these things, but I never know where to post them. If this is a appropriate thread and needs to be moved, please do so! This is so important for users to know about!
Thank you...

A few days ago over half of the shortcuts on my desktop disappeared. I have no idea what happened to cause this. My user desktop folder still showed all of the shortcuts that were previously on the visual desktop. When I attempted to recreate the missing shortcuts on my visual desktop I...
I'm confused about the Windows 10 reset function and need some enlightenment.
Today, I decided to do a Windows 10 reset and wipe out my existing HD of all of the old apps, files, etc. (I have it all backed up with Acronis backup). I thought the correct procedure was to burn an install DVD for...

I'm having some problem with backing up with using Acronis True Image 2015 backup for windows 8.1 and its taking so long to backup. I've waited several hours and not a single hard drive is moving to back up. The status is now 135.2 gb out of 238 gb from the ssd drive. The 135.2 gb is still not...
Hello. Had a member recommend Acronis for backup. I have looked into and am contemplating their solution.
From what I understand you can also move from computer to computer. If I get a new machine (which I will need shortly) and the operating sytem is more advanced can I switch over then...
That’s one last question before I move on to Acronis True Image. I’ve been trying for at least a full day and I believe the last half of yesterday to sort out how to restore from a network “WINDOWSBACKUPIMAGE” I spelled it that way because that’s how Windows spells it when it creates it However...
