alt gr
About this tag
The Alt Gr key is a modifier key commonly found on non-US keyboard layouts, such as German (Deutsch) layouts, used to access additional characters like braces and superscript numbers. Users on WindowsForum.com have reported issues where the Alt Gr key behaves like a standard Alt key, preventing access to special characters needed for programming. This can occur after login on Windows 7, even though the key works correctly during the login screen. Other problems include the key triggering system functions like Energy Saving Mode, often due to physical damage or liquid spills. Users also seek methods to remap the right Alt key to function as Alt Gr on laptops lacking a dedicated key, such as the Dell XPS 15. Solutions discussed include keyboard remapping software and checking for conflicting system settings.
Since Today in the morning <Alt Gr> does no longer work as it should. Instead of activating some special characters (like “{”, “}”,“²”,“³”) on my German layout Logitech USB keyboard, it activates the "Energy Save Mode" shutdown.

i know the combination of strg+alt, but for programming its really not a long-time-solution.
