application visibility
About this tag
Application visibility on Windows systems refers to whether installed programs appear in the Start Menu, uninstall list, or other system interfaces. Common issues include programs not showing in the Start Menu or uninstall list despite being present on the system, as seen with Filemaker. Domain-joined computers may also experience problems where locally installed applications are hidden when a network-based Start Menu policy is enforced via Group Policy. Troubleshooting often involves checking GPO settings, rebuilding user profiles, or manually creating shortcuts. These topics are relevant for IT administrators managing Windows desktops in enterprise environments.
