About this tag
The ASCII tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about the American Standard Code for Information Interchange, focusing on practical issues Windows users face. Topics include typing accented characters like Spanish á, ñ, and ü on English keyboards, converting between decimal and ASCII values, and understanding Windows sort order for non-alphanumeric ASCII characters in file and folder names. Users also seek bitmap fonts for the full ASCII set, troubleshoot keyboard mapping problems where shifted keys produce ASCII letters instead of symbols, and work around restrictions on special ASCII characters in file names. Additional threads explore ASCII art and unicode mapping conflicts with Greek fonts.
