About this tag
Auto sleep is a power-saving feature in Windows that automatically puts the computer into a low-power state after a period of inactivity. Discussions on WindowsForum cover configuring auto-sleep timers in Windows 7, such as setting the PC to sleep after a specific time while listening to music. Users also report issues like BSODs occurring after monitor auto-sleep or during gaming, and problems with the taskbar disappearing after waking from auto-sleep. Additionally, some users seek ways to exclude certain programs (e.g., Chrome, Windows Live Messenger) from preventing auto-sleep. These threads highlight common troubleshooting scenarios and configuration tips for managing auto-sleep behavior on Windows systems.
