a/v interference
About this tag
Discussions tagged with a/v interference on WindowsForum.com focus on antivirus software conflicting with Windows system operations, particularly System Restore. Users report that antivirus programs like Malwarebytes can block or interfere with System Restore, causing it to fail even after disabling the antivirus via its quit option. The tag covers troubleshooting steps such as fully disabling or uninstalling security software to resolve restore errors, and questions about whether Windows built-in protections like ransomware settings also contribute to the interference. The content is relevant to Windows 10 users experiencing restore failures linked to third-party antivirus tools.
