backpedal

The tag 'backpedal' on WindowsForum.com covers instances where Microsoft or its executives reversed or clarified previous statements. A recurring theme is CEO Steve Ballmer prematurely announcing Windows 8 by name and a 2012 release, followed by Microsoft officially backing away from those comments. The tag also includes a thread about Donald Trump backpedaling on border wall policy, though that is unrelated to Windows or Microsoft. Overall, the tag focuses on corporate retractions and clarifications, particularly regarding Windows version naming and release timelines.
