bcd store
About this tag
The bcd store tag covers discussions about the Windows Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store, a critical component for booting Windows. Topics include troubleshooting boot failures, such as STOP 0x7B errors, and repairing or rebuilding the BCD store when Windows cannot boot normally or in Safe Mode. Users often seek help with BCD store corruption or misconfiguration, especially after hardware changes or system updates. The tag is relevant for Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11 systems, and involves using tools like Bootrec.exe or BCDEdit to fix boot issues. Enterprise IT and advanced users may also discuss BCD store management in multi-boot or recovery scenarios.
I can no longer boot 64-bit Win 7 Pro in normal or Safe Mode on ANY disk due to BSOD: STOP 0x0000007B (0XFFFF880009A97E8, 0XFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0, 0). The motherboard is an Asus Z-87A.
NOTE: I profusely apologize, but since I can't even boot in Safe Mode, I cannot run the "W7F Diagnostic Tool"...
