It looks like another leaked build is out. If that is the case and we end up getting an official release in the next week, would that be the last build prior to the RTM?
If I was Microsoft, I would release an RC about 2 to 3 weeks prior to the RTM. Depending when the RTM would be finalized...

I have read most of this thread & really, tried to keep tabs on it as it continues to have additions. W/out bothering w/ whether an original Key is lost or replaced, whether an original Recovery partition is lost or replaced when a production OS is overwritten by a beta OS, I'm going to suggest...

It is terrific to be able to, internally, upgrade Builds! The amount of time & trouble, fuss, actions, it saves us Beta Testers!! This is a most, welcome & wonderful development! Much nicer than 'the old days' (ways)!
YEA!!
And it only shows via WU in Windows 10 machines.
Cheers,
Drew
Hi
I saw this article, if it's true I'm all in to start beta testing it.
http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/threshold-be-called-windows-9-ship-april-2015
I can't imagine that they wouldn't want to have a real beta testing, if they are going to make major changes and call it a new OS.
I'm...

I have big problems with 8.1, software for DVD and Blu-ray discs will not work because my Blu-ray optical drive "disappears" from the operating system. When checking the listed devices at boot-up hopefully the drive is shown there. But when I launch a program (that used to work with XP and...

In another forum someone asked what people felt about Windows 8. This is what I had to say:
Ok, well, to the OP I will offer my comments & promise to not be overly techy. Many folks who have spent a bit of time @ this forum, already, know my feelings but, that's ok...

The last time anyone saw a SimCity game released was years ago, as The Sims, a game developed by Will Wright, took over as the top dog for Electronic Arts and their game studio, Maxis. As an independent studio, Maxis developed many Sim games before The Sims, including Sim Farm, Sim Tower, Sim...

Hi
I'm a gamer, and a new version of Neverwinter is coming.
I want to register on their web site so I can post try to get into beta etc.
So I try to register an account, it says that my email address has already been used.
I try and log in and it says that I have the wrong ID, not surprising...
Well after avoiding the beta builds to avoid spoilers etc for the last 6 months, I finally got my hands on the game a few days after launch (I like to wait 2-3 days for them to fix server issues.... especially after that Diablo 3 fiasco ) and after 4 days of play I'm finding this to live up...

I have a lot of empathy & understanding for my colleagues in the Forum. However, I realise as new folks keep coming to the forum, we must persevere. The point of a forum, as we see it, the aim, is to help people, guide, instruct, offer some insight & enlightenment & maybe, even fix...

POST = Power On Self Test, right?
Apparently not any longer. The word is now being used to describe the future of computing, as in POST PC World.
Which sounds to me like Microsoft intends to leave we desktop users and apparently some of if not most of its' long time valued partners to our own...

No Beta OS should ever be installed, except as, follows:

3. As a dual-boot.
4. Run from a USB stick
Never as an Upgrade or replacement to an existing, current, non-beta OS. Never on a production machine.

I ran the DP from mid-September 2011. Messed w/ it sporadically. Since 29/2/12 have been solidly w/ Windows8. To little time to learn it, personalise it. I'm running dual-boot w/ Windows7, both x64. The Start is of little concern... I boot to the Desktop... have customized start but visit it...
