About this tag
The boot error tag on WindowsForum.com collects discussions about Windows systems that fail to start cleanly or display startup error messages. A recent example involves Windows Server Essentials 2016 treating a USB WiFi adapter as a possible boot device, producing a "Remove disks or other media" prompt after shutdown that does not appear on a normal restart. Threads like this typically focus on diagnosing firmware boot order, removable media handling, and Windows startup behavior, making the tag useful for anyone troubleshooting boot-related errors across Windows client and server editions.
