About this tag
The breakdown tag on WindowsForum.com covers instances where Windows systems experience severe instability or failure. One thread describes a desktop breakdown during screensharing, where windows turn gray, jump in and out of view, and revert to older Windows 7 or Vista visual styles, requiring a forced shutdown. Another thread reports that an AVG Free update in 2011 caused a total breakdown of 64-bit Windows 7 PCs, preventing them from booting. These discussions focus on troubleshooting breakdowns that render the system unusable, often triggered by software updates or specific activities like screen sharing.
