About this tag
The bt folder, also known as the Windows BT folder, is a hidden system folder created during a Windows upgrade or installation process. It stores temporary files needed for the upgrade, such as the Windows setup files. Users may encounter issues when this folder is missing or cannot be found, even after using tools like the Media Creation Tool to download Windows 10. Troubleshooting typically involves checking for hidden files, ensuring the folder wasn't deleted, or verifying that the upgrade process completed correctly. The bt folder is distinct from the SoftwareDistribution folder and is usually located on the system drive.
