build 2016
About this tag
Build 2016 was Microsoft's annual developer conference where key Windows 10 milestones and developer tools were announced. At the event, Microsoft revealed that Windows 10 had reached 270 million devices, with over 75 billion hours of usage. Sessions covered contextual sensing APIs for Windows 10, building IoT projects like a Magic Mirror using Hosted Web Apps and Cognitive Services, and bringing existing desktop apps to the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) via the Desktop App Converter. The conference also highlighted open-source initiatives such as ChakraCore, Microsoft Edge's JavaScript engine. Build 2016 served as a platform for Microsoft to showcase its vision for cross-platform development and the Windows ecosystem.
