About this tag
The tag 'burning capability' on WindowsForum.com covers issues related to optical disc drives losing their ability to write to DVDs or Blu-ray discs after a Windows upgrade or hardware configuration change. Discussions include a Matshita BD-MLT UJ-220S Blu-ray drive that only functions as a CD-ROM after upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 64-bit, and IDE DVD-RW drives that fail to read or write when configured as slave devices on a secondary IDE channel. Troubleshooting topics involve driver availability, jumper settings, and BIOS configuration for IDE and SATA drives.
