channel membership

The channel membership tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussion of how membership is managed in Microsoft Teams channels, including a roadmap feature that would tie channel access to tags. Under Microsoft 365 roadmap item 577174, joining a tag would automatically add a person to the channels associated with that tag, so membership follows groups that change over time instead of being maintained by hand. The thread notes the feature was listed as in development with general availability targeted for November 2026. Coverage here focuses on Teams administration and the practical effect on keeping people connected to the conversations and content that match their role.
