clock sync

About this tag
Clock sync issues on Windows can stem from various causes, including hardware problems, system configuration errors, or network time protocol (NTP) server connectivity. In Windows 10, a clock that drifts out of sync by several minutes may indicate a deeper system instability, as seen in cases where random shutdowns also occur. For older systems like Windows XP, failure to sync with an NTP server often results from firewall settings or server-side restrictions, even after disabling local firewalls. Troubleshooting typically involves checking time zone settings, ensuring the Windows Time service is running, and verifying network access to reliable NTP servers. These discussions highlight common clock sync challenges across different Windows versions.
