About this tag
The Intel Core 2 Extreme is a high-end desktop processor from Intel's Core 2 lineup, known for its unlocked multiplier and premium performance. On WindowsForum.com, discussions about the Core 2 Extreme often involve troubleshooting video corruption issues on Windows 7 systems, as seen with a Core 2 Extreme 2.66 GHz machine experiencing display problems. Users also compare the Core 2 Extreme QX9650 to the Core 2 Quad Q9300, questioning the real-world performance differences and whether the higher price of the Extreme edition is justified. These threads highlight the processor's relevance in legacy Windows 7 gaming and upgrade decisions.

System 1:
Core i7 - 920 processor
EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI motherboard
6gb memory
Nvidia BFG GeForce GTX 280 video
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64
System 2:
Intel Core 2 Extreme 2.66 - processor
Nvidia NForce 680i - motherboard
4gb memory
Nvidia...
