data repair
About this tag
Data repair in Windows involves correcting corrupted or inconsistent data across storage systems. Discussions on WindowsForum cover both legacy and modern approaches. In pre-ReFS setups, users explore third-party tools to scan mirrored disks and repair mismatched data by comparing multiple copies, with manual verification as a fallback. Microsoft's ReFS (Resilient File System) introduces automatic data repair in mirror configurations, detecting and fixing corruption without manual intervention. ReFS also offers enhanced data integrity and performance for large-scale storage. Topics include disk mirroring, data integrity checks, and the transition from NTFS to ReFS for improved resilience.
Microsoft's New ReFS File System: What It Means for Windows
Windows has long relied on the NTFS file system, a durable workhorse that has powered fixed drives on PCs for decades. However, Microsoft is now signaling a potential shift with the introduction of ReFS—the Resilient File...

LS,
In a pre ReFS era, is it possible to somehow run a process(can be 3rd party software) that scans all disks (minimum of 3) in a mirror setup. If all but 1 disk have the same data then repair that 1 bad data to be similar to the others.
If more than 1 disk report some different data then...
