deep sleep
About this tag
The deep sleep tag on WindowsForum.com covers issues where a Realtek Ethernet controller enters a power-saving state that prevents the network adapter from being detected or functioning properly. Users report that the Realtek LAN driver installer displays a message indicating the card is in deep sleep mode, and the Ethernet port fails to connect or appear in Windows. Problems include the Ethernet lights turning off upon entering Windows, the controller showing as an unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, and the absence of a network section. Troubleshooting steps discussed include waking the adapter from deep sleep, reinstalling drivers, and checking power management settings.
