details pane
About this tag
The details pane in Windows File Explorer shows file metadata like size, type, and date modified. Users have reported the details pane missing from the View > Show menu, or absent in Save-As dialogs, often alongside other system issues like time change errors. Some seek to move the pane from bottom to top, which may require editing shell32.dll, though this can cause login problems on 64-bit systems. Others want to reposition the command bar relative to the details pane. These threads cover troubleshooting missing panes, layout customization, and related registry or DLL modifications.
Running Win 7 Home Premium 32Bit SP1
This is two problems in fact, but I assume them to be related.
1. In the Save-As dialog (i.e. saving a website in Firefox or a document in Adobe Reader or other programs), there is no details pane displayed. See screenshot below.
