diagonal lines
About this tag
Diagonal lines on a Windows screen often indicate a display or graphics driver issue. In one reported case, a Windows 7 build 7100 system experienced colorful blocks, vertical bands, and diagonal dotted lines after waking from sleep mode, eventually becoming stuck in Safe Mode. This suggests a potential hardware failure, driver corruption, or system instability. Troubleshooting steps may include checking the graphics card, updating or rolling back drivers, testing the monitor with another device, or performing a system restore. Users encountering diagonal lines should first try booting into normal mode or using Last Known Good Configuration to isolate the cause.
