dim display
About this tag
The dim display tag covers discussions about laptop screens that are extremely faint or nearly invisible, often requiring a bright external light to see any content. A recurring theme is troubleshooting whether the problem stems from a failed backlight, even on LED displays, as seen in a Dell E6510 case where an external monitor works fine. Users seek advice on diagnosing backlight issues versus other hardware failures, with common suggestions including checking the inverter, display cable, or LED driver board. This tag is relevant for Windows laptop owners experiencing similar symptoms and looking for repair guidance.
No display on Dell E6510 Led display, hook up external monitor and system comes up properly. I shine a bright light on laptop display and can see a very dim display on the screen. Is this a backlight issue, not sure if this exists on a led display. Any idea on troubleshooting this issue?
