About this tag
Disk protection in Windows refers to System Protection, which creates restore points to safeguard system files and settings. In a Windows Anytime Upgrade thread, a user encountered an error despite disk protection being enabled, as shown in Control Panel's create a restore point section. Troubleshooting steps included disabling antivirus, firewall, UAC, running chkdsk, and restarting in safe mode, but the error persisted. This tag covers issues related to enabling or configuring disk protection, particularly when it interferes with system upgrades or restore point creation.
